I have been on these boards for years. Some of them under another name which I can't remember! I do try and venture out onto the other boards but it isn't the same. I feel at home here.
So down to the debt - we, me and my partner, were £20k+ in debt in 2016/17 and are now finally down to the last debt, i.e.:
£5582.54 @ 0%
I want to get this sorted by the end of the year. That is a BIG ask but I like a challenge and even if I clear a big chunk then that is a good thing. I already have £255 to over pay it with from getting an extra bit of money from cutting our neighbour's hedge and doing a days gardening at the weekend.
It will be SUCH a relief to not have any debt so that we can forge ahead with our other dreams...a move to Northumberland (my OH wants to be near her parents who are absolutely wonderful) and to of course pay off the mortgage.
Love reading the diaries. They are so motivational

Thanks beanielou
My first direct debit payment came out today and as my partner got paid (hurray!) I paid off an extra £367.50. I got another £112.50 on Saturday for doing a gardening job so added that to the £255. Finally we are going in the right direction.
Once these payments have cleared the state of play will be:
£5,159.33
I have a regular saver which is maturing in a couple of weeks, (£500 or so), so will chuck this at the debt too."Everything comes to him who hustles while he waits" Thomas Edison

Unfortunately I was not able to work this weekend due to the wet weather but I did get paid from my main job so paid £400 off. I also got a £50 HSBC bank switching incentive and another £50 for selling logs! A side hustle is always a big help
So the total is now:
£4,659.33
In order to keep the pennies rolling in I have a item listed on Ebay and am due to work both days this weekend. I am also due to get a refund from my utilities supplier. They key for me is to make use of money as soon as I get it even if that means moving it into a different account so it doesn't get frittered away.
Hope everyone is good x"Everything comes to him who hustles while he waits" Thomas Edison

All sounding very positive. You've made it over 75% of the way there. Very impressed with all your extra income streams to keep the payments and motivation flowing. Plus a great goal in mind.
Keep going! XLoan 1 £5200/£8000
Loan 2 £300/£5800
Total £5500/£138000 -
Thank you Kitten. Yes the income streams are very welcome especially with this being the final consumer debt. It all starts to snowball. Not thinking about the mortgage or student loan for now!
I got some good new the other day. I am going to be a product tester for a branded stick hoover - am really chuffed! I get to keep it if I write a report for the manufacturer. How cool! Things like this really do keep you motivated. We actually wanted a new hoover as our old 1 has been really mistreated and is too big for the space it lives in so I cannot wait for the new old to arrive
Latest payments to the debt have been £100 from selling more logs and £104 which was a rebate from my utility provider.
New total:

A bit more paid off...another £10 for log sales, £19.65 in interest from a regular saver and £90 from working this weekend.
New total:
£4,335.68
Am also straying into a barter economy...the person who fitted my boiler and services it every year has agreed to do it next year for some logs saving me £60!"Everything comes to him who hustles while he waits" Thomas Edison

Hi, just wanted to drop in and wish you luck on your journey, seems like you have made a massive dent in the total already, well done0

Hi FootyFanDan. Thanks for your support
. You are doing great too!
Another £350 paid off from wages so the new total is:
£3,985.68
Another £90 to pay off, from work fuel costs, when it clears in the next day or so.
My Ebay item didn't sell, grrr, so it is on again for a 2nd time.
Gonna struggle to get this debt paid off this year. Have got some building works going on this weekend, wasn't sure when it was going to start, so that is a big chunk of money that is taken up. At least I have it in savings which I never would have had done before"Everything comes to him who hustles while he waits" Thomas Edison
