Firstly congratulations on your new addition!

Sounds like you're off to a good start! Maybe a cupboard/fridge inventory would be a good step to stop you buying things you already have? I did a freezer one recently and found I had 34 sausages!!!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,100
Total paid off - £10,500.89 (67% paid off)
  • I will be interested to see how you manage on your no spending rule. I decided to try to do the same a few weeks ago as I am a terrible spendthrift. Since then I have bought a table and chairs for the kitchen, a table and chairs for the garden and ordered a pair of trousers and a cardigan for me on line. and that's not counting the winter clothes I bought my GGS. At my age I ought to know better ( I'm a GGma) and I really wanted to replenish my savings after I loaned most of it to my DD and DGS. Will I ever change my ways?

Welcome to the boards and good luck with becoming more frugal

I used olive oil to massage into my baby's skin. Looking at your SOA you have a big figure in for nursery costs already - why is that? Is that money you could use to pay off your paypal credit instead and get it gone?

  • Hi Mini

    congratulations on the baby.

Well done on reaching nearly 3 weeks. that's great work.

i notice you did a SOA for when your DD starts nursery, yet there is only one income in the earnings field...did you bulk these together?

I'm with you on the tea hording- it drives my OH potty the number of different teas we have.

I also second the olive oil recommendation for dry skin, totally natural so no chemicals being absorbed into baby's skin.

    Good luck.

  • You seem to be quite good at being frugal and have savings. I would ditch the lottery and do premium bonds instead.

Just as a side issue it is a good idea to give your body 2 years to recover after pregnancy even without a cancer scare. I had 18 months between mine and had an ovarian cyst on my second pregnancy which required one of my ovaries to be removed and was told I had not allowed my body to recover between pregnancies which led to the cyst. My niece had the same.
