Yes, I have always used my written signature to sign off letters addressed to DCAs.OceanSound wrote: »When creditor is the debt collection agency (DCA)?...or even when creditor has passed debt to a DCA?
It has never caused a problem... I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job

Yeah, this 'don't sign, they'll copy it' thing is a bit of an urban myth.0

Exactly, as said above, a reconstituted credit agreement does not need to bear a signiture in order to be valid, there used to be all kinds of conflicting information floating around the internet about the enforceability of copy credit agreements, the stipulations have been available for all to see for in the link posted above by WTL.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Just goes to show how out of touch some of these debt advice services are; spreading folk tales on the Internet.0

I was a bit worried that I may have to write two letters; one unsigned, one signed. Similar to some prime minister's when they write to the EU. :rotfl:0

thanks Willing2Learn and others.Good news.
Cabot and Robinson way had been bombarding me for years with letters chasing the same (settled) barclaycard account from 2010/11.First I sent the prove it letter to both. Cabot immediately responded with 'the account is clearly statute barred. We will close our account and you will not hear from us further'.Robinson way took their time. They contacted Barclaycard then sent me a scanned copy of the application form.I then replied with the other 'statute barred letter'. After some time, they replied saying 'OK, it is statute barred. We will close our file...if you have any questions in regard to this account, please contact HOIST FINANCE UK HOLDINGS 1 LIMITED directly'.1
