Buying loose fruit and veg

Apologies if this has already been asked before. I’m a regular lurker on here and I’m fairly sure I haven’t seen it.
I’m a child of the 80’s. I remember going to shops and the fruit/veg etc being sold loose. You’d choose how much and which ones. Like potatoes still are now...
Does anywhere exist that still does this? I find it so frustrating to have it dictated to me how much of something is in a pack. Not to mention the excess packaging! I live alone and fill one, sometimes two recycling bags a week plus a black bag of general waste that can’t be recycled.
I don’t have lots of disposable income to spend on organic places, or specialist places etc just wondering if there’s such a place as grocers/supermarkets that still do this?

Individual greengrocers still have loose fruit & veg - the smell in them is delicious. You can actually smell the strawberries & other fruit & veg when you open the door. Apples with the leaves still on the stalks sometimes. Heaven.

Tesco's have started doing this, although to an extent all supermarkets have had some produce like that

However, some have noticed that instead of getting 3 in a bag for £1 you are now getting singles at 50p - so hiding price hikes while being "green" and worthy

Is there not a market near you - an ordinary one, not artisan/farmers ones. They usually have a loose fruit and veg stall.

Fruit and vegetable variety and packaging options seem to vary from area to area depending on the local customer base.

Greengrocer stall at a covered or an outdoor market, larger superstores/ supercentres of chain supermarkets, larger Asian or Middle Eastern grocers all have a decent selection of loose produce in my city.

Our Tesco has loose vegetables, as does the Sainsbury's in the next town.

Our Asda has loose veg, not everything but some are. Luckily there's also a greengrocer for those who like to pick & choose

WHat are you putting in your general waste? DO you not have a plastic recycling? We have a one carrier bag every couple of weeks of non recyclables and here are two of us. Might be worth going on your council website to see what they do recycle.
Alsi/Lidl, actually, nearly every supermarket had loose fruit and veg, and as above, asian grocers have a wide range of loose veg [ and fairly cheap rice too]
Is there anything in particular you want to buy that's usually packed?

Morrison do loose fruit and veg as do most supermarkets. I dont see where the problem is

Even lidl have started loose fruit, mix and match 3 for £1 I think it was

Supermarkets and leave the packaging there!
