We have a presentation pack of the Leonardo da Vinci issue to give away to each of 12 lucky winners, courtesy of Royal Mail. The set of 12 stamps reproduces drawings by the Renaissance artist which are held by the Royal Collection.

Question: In which medieval European republic was Leonardo da Vinci born in 1452?

Wikipedia says that Vinci was in the Republic of Florence aka the Florentine Republic at the time.

Good Luck....
I need to think of something new here...
