My son and i have made a cake for my hubbies birthday.
My son wants to make it into a football pitch.
Does anyone have a good butter icing recipe?

Standard butter icing quantities are twice as much icing sugar as butter.
I always use a good quality slightly salted or unsalted butter (like lurpak), soften it slightly in the microwave then slowly add the icing sugar until it's all combined.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

i just make it up as I go along,bit of softened butter, drop of milk and some sieved icing sugar, mix it all up till you get the constistency you like!Do what you love :happyhear0

fluff up real butter with a fork until fluffy and then add in icing sugar bit by bit until it tastes nice!

Nope.....needs to be icing sugar with butter or marg. Butter tastes nicer but marg is cheaper.0

If you use caster sugar the icing will be very coarse and gritty. If you have a food processor or blender you can make icing sugar. Have a look at this thread:
