ES - that sounds like you will have your hands full! We don't have the most harmonious tribe, but everyone can usually be persuaded to keep in line at Christmas. And if they don't, well...I only have to escape across town
Speaking of Christmas, I finally got my cards all written and sent today - only realised this morning that tomorrow is the last day for posting 2nd class, it definitely crept up on me! PD helped by licking an envelope. And licking a paw. And sticking said paw to said envelope  PD was utterly horrified, and I nearly did myself a mischief from laughing, which didn't go down well
Budget is still on track - I had thought I was doing unusually well, but then worked out something I had paid for, and logged in YNAB, actually hadn't appeared in my transactions, so I'm not quite as well off as I thought. However, it's still fine, and as long as I don't socialise too much over the next few days, I will be fine. Got a couple of cheap meet-ups planned, nothing more than a coffee or two, so will still be able to socialise a little

Well done you have done amazing paying all that back in such a short time and it's gave me a little motivation boost reading your diary!
Well done on becoming debt free, such an amazing achievement

Speaking of which, PD appears to be unscathed by her envelope mishap, even if I did do a bit of swearing trying to get all the fur off that has stuck to the envelope. I do wish they’d include one extra envelope with packs of cards, I always mess up the address on one of them (although never had one become attached to the cat before
On the MSE front, I have been paid so have put it in my EF for now, and will transfer it back this time next week. EF is (temporarily) looking incredibly healthy :rotfl: It has also been roughly allocated in YNAB for January, but will do some tweaking next week before I commit. It is VERY weird not allocating my usual chunk to the CC
Spends will be low over the next week - a few coffees, and not much else planned. I do need to do a small food shop on Monday or Tuesday, just for some fresh fruit and veg, but otherwise I’m going to take it easy. I’ve got the whole week off, which is nice (and unexpected) so not back until 30th - and then we get two days off at NY, so it is only a 3 day week anyway

Debt busting has been all-consuming this year - so I'm really hoping I can let something else take the focus, and headspace, in 2020. If I'd stuck to my usual DD payment, I'd have been debt free on Friday - it does seem like a long time since I'd made that final payment, not sure I'd have been able to wait that long :rotfl:
Back to the here and now, and I'm having a day of list-making and organisation - feels like I'm getting a head start on the January fresh start
I also have a craft project I want to do, but there is absolutely no way I can do it whilst PD is awake. I bought a block of air-drying clay, as I want to attempt to mould a yarn bowl - the ones for sale are really expensive for what they are, and I can't find one exactly as I want it. So I thought I'd make one. How hard can it be?
I might have to lock myself in the bathroom

:rotfl: good luck
Delurking to say b*oody well done! Inspirational, in fact; have subscribed.I have a strong feeling that there are very good things just around the corner for you; it's funny how clearing the decks in one area seems to unleash apparently unconnected things.
I can't remember who, but one famous author I think actually cut a fur coat in half rather than disturb a cat sleeping on it. How do they hypnotise us into doing their bidding? They were worshipped in ancient Egypt and have never got over it...
Thanks for sharing your journey; I think most of us have had toxic jobs at some point. You're ahead of the game though; you can see it now and are resolving it. None of it reflects badly on you.
Happy Christmas to you and all thread readers. 2020 is going to be good!!! Humdinger
Intrigued me - so I went a-googling. Found this which was fun to read for 5 mins. Includes a similar story about the prophet but no Author

Thanks for the message Humdinger - PD probably wishes we were back in Ancient Egypt, as is very used to being picked up whilst asleep (or pretending to be
Not quite sure how I will spend the weekend - I've been for a few walks over the last few days, and have absolutely no desire to go anywhere near a shop or interact with anyone really
The fridge has 11 million types of cheese in it, but not too much else, so will need to buy some more fresh stuff tomorrow. Otherwise, budget is looking good
