On the dons question if an item scans at the till more than it should be the store can refuse to sell it at that price that's what was said on money show something to do with a contract so if a bottle of wine is in the supermarkets says £5 on shelf scans at £10 and store assistant says offer has ended sorry you have to pay £10 they can refuse to sell it for £5 as I thought you could have it at price on shelf

Individual stores may have that policy, but legally if it's an error they can refuse to sell it at that price.0

MSE Martin gives great advice but "The Don" devalues his brand.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
"No man is worth, crawling on the earth"- adapted from Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio

Finance can be a pretty dry subject - I imagine that ITV are quite keen on some lighter elements to the shows.0 -

Each to their own, although I agree that the "Don" is probably the least compelling of the characters. I don't see the connection between the character and questions of finance lore. Scrooge makes much more sense.
I also think they should do two-handed sketches - Martin and Angelica.0 -
I was in ASDA on Friday and spotted an Error in the fact that a bottle of wine was showing at £5.99 on the shelf edge label and it went through the till at £10.99. I questioned this and was told the same thing that they did not have to sell it to me. I knew that they did not have to sell it too me so I refused to pay for my shopping and unpacked everything that I had put into my trolley.
I was asked what I was doing and I pointed out that as they did not want to sell me the wine I did not want to buy any of the other shopping from ASDA. I had around £160 worth of stuff in the trolley and about £70 was frozen.
A manager came over to me and said that they would sell me the wine at the price of £5.99. When I asked him why he said that it was a goodwill gesture! I started laughing and said he could stick it where he wanted but I was not having it and not having any of the other shopping! I left the store empty handed but satisfied!
Working in retail myself I was well aware of the issue and companies have different policies. The company I work for would honour the policy and thank the customer for highlighting our error. With thousands of items for sale in shops/supermarkets at any one time old tickets get missed.0 -
I'd have banned you from the store. Wilfully wasting food that might not be able to be resold is disgusting behaviour.0
