Lender requesting documentation I don't have - help!

Hello all,
I wonder if anyone's experienced similar and can help. Our mortgage lender is requesting a copy of my P60 as a last step and I'm not able to provide it.
I finished my previous employment with NHS England on 30th March 2018. I chased payroll for my P45 several times. First I was told it was in the post. Then it emerged I hadn't been 'discharged' from my employment. Then finally, they told me they'd posted my P45 at the very beginning of April (even though that made no sense) and that was that, goodbye. Basically, payroll at NHSE are incompetent and I've worn out their helpfulness. I know employers are legally obliged to provide a P45 but when they don't, what can you do?
Fortunately my new employer is very helpful and they got around not having a P45 by filling out some forms for HMRC. But understandably they can't provide me with an actual copy of my P45.
So what can I do for the lender? They won't accept my March payslip or bank statements, I've tried that. I feel like I'm going around in circles and short of taking NHSE to court for failing to provide my documentation, I don't know what to do!

Yes but I’ve moved on to another NHS employer, do my ESR record was reset0

Will they accept your March payslip?
Ask the lender what they will accept in lieu of the P60. If you can not get something they will accept, it is probably time to start looking at plan B.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I’m going to call them direct tomorrow- our mortgage broker with Connells is also pretty useless so I’m not sure we’re getting a straight message.
Fortunately we do already have another offer on the table for 25 years - this was a rethink for 28 with a different lender.0 -
my husband wasn't able to produce a p60 and we were able to get a mortgage offer without one. Provided bank statements and payslips and that satisfied them0
