I won an LP on NME. They have asked for a photo of a utility bill to verify me.
I’m a bit dubious about sending it.
Has anyone had to do this before?

No, but they are entitled to confirm eligibility although it does seem a bit much for the prize

It's becoming more common to ask for proof of ID/address - it helps stop people entering with more than one set of details, or people impersonating others to claim a prize.
NME email addresses end @nme.com or @ti-media.com and I wouldn't worry about sending a photo of a bill to them.0 -
This is normal for NME but don't expect to receive the prize very quickly.
It's nearly 8 weeks since I sent them a pic and utility bill and 4 weeks since they apologised for the delay....but still not received my Netflix gift card.
My emails have been with Paloma Diaz at Expressly
Bauer magazine sites do like to get a photo but it's not compulsory.
A couple of times I've had to send a copy of my driving licence to verify name and address.0 -
Ti media/DMRI can be really fussy if they choose (mag dailies/pick 3 numbers instant wins etc)Claims are only valid if the winner's name and address are on the electoral roll. It is the winner's responsibility to ensure their contact details on the site are correct and up-to-date.0

Yes, don't worry, that's legit and is their usual process. I had to send them the same thing when I won with them in the summer. I emailed mine to them but didn't hear back for quite a few days, then when they did contact they said thanks and that they'd contact the prize provider. I think it took about a month from when I first got the WEM to when I received the prize, so it wasn't that quick but certainly wasn't the slowest.0
