SETANTA'S Customer Service.

SETANTA - Shower of imcompetent wasters! Got a letter to say my annual payment (due on 23 August) by credit card would be £156. Phoned them to cancel if I couldn't get the same £9.99 deal available to new subscribers. Agreed to give me that deal and said they would take £120 instead of £156 from my. c.c. Yep! They took £156. Phoned them on 23 August, said they would refund me the £36. 6 phone calls at a rip-off 0870 number later and still no refund. 'You have to allow up to 28 days' - It's been more than that now. Sent them a letter - wasn't even acknowledged, let alone replied to. E-mailed them - automatic generated response said that I would get a reply within 5 working days...........Zilch, nada. During one phone call, I told them to remove my c.c details - couldn't do that without me giving them an alternative means of payment.........'in breach of contract' blah, blah, blah, and they would disconnect me. EHHHH? I've paid upfront for 12 months! Apparently that doesn't matter. So, I'm going to cancel that c.c. as it's the only way I can ensure that no further payments will be taken................well, as soon as I get my £36 refund which, I omitted to say was supposedly 'actioned on 12 September'.

Was told on 26 October there was a cheque for £36.12 and letter in the post to me - did not arrive. Phoned today (5 Nov) and was told that a letter and cheque was sent to me on 28 November and to........wait for it.......allow 28 days for it to arrive! When I questioned this and asked for an explanation, the girl put the phone down on me. Any advice would be much appreciated, Folks. Anyone have a similiar experience with this company?

    and I have just signed up to these muppets for a 3 month trial at a fiver a month, thankfully I did it DD as these are easy to cancel online with the bank should I have any hassle with Sultana CS on the phone;)

    Been watching the sports since saturday and while not as polished as Sky Sports its a hell of a lot cheaper;)

    Trawl throuhg the internet & try to find names of Directors, MD's or other senior management & write to them. I'm sure at least one of them will be interested to know how crap their service is.

    I agree total rubbish. i signed up to no contract deal via website. Tried to cancel via e-mail apparently you have to give 28 days notice and they cannot accept by e-mail only by writing or phoning premium rate number. I reluctantly phoned this @ 5:30 pm the other day after pressing various buttons 1 2 3 etc i got message that customer services were closed and to ring again between 8am and midnight. Heres me thinking 5:30 pm was between these hours. Needless to say I still havent got to cancel.Dont get conned into joining Setanta.
