Anyone have a 'comping' facebook account?

Options
I see lots of facebook competitions but don't enter them as I don't want to fill my wall with comps.... friends & family might get annoyed with me!!

I was wondering if anyone on here had set up a separate facebook account, just for comping?

  • There are people that do, however it is against fb rules to have more than one account and fb can delete both of your accounts if found out.

In my opinion my facebook is to be used for what I want to use it for, if people don't like what they see they can unfollow me i'm not going to lose sleep over it.

I have one Facebook account, only ever used for competitions. Ditto Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram.......etc. Got a few friends and followers, mostly also compers.

Only problem with this is if competition promoters have a look at the pages and disqualify because of being a "professional comper" if there is such a thing (more of a dedicated hobbyist IMHO and if I collected stamps or did trainspotting should I also be disqualified?).

Just not interested in Social Media as a form of communicating with friends, especially as the Rest of the World can see stuff there too. You want to talk to me, pick up the phone or come over for a coffee. I do use email but don't expect a fast response, I'll reply when I want to, if I want to. (Don't get me started on Social Media! Didn't start this with the intention of ranting.....)
  • I did have one for around two years. Entered approximately 2-3 a day to limit my usage and won a grand total of zero competitions.

I asked for followers on here and gained 10 or 11 but as someone has said above the promoters probably look at your page with no photos, statuses etc and dismiss your account.

I deleted it a month or so ago and just use my normal account for 1 competition a day to avoid annoying my actual friends.

I did when they first started so that I could separate my Real Life from comping, but it was closed without warning.
I still wonder whether there's a win lurking there, LOL!
