HI and welcome Smile have no right to take £600 p/m off you as it doesn't leave you enough to live on but on the other hand if you can struggle on for vthe 3 months you'll then have £600 left over and can throw £500 of it at another debt..but if you can't struggle on you can contact the cab..good luck

hi, sounds like you're having a tough time. Any chance of getting a part time job for the short term? I was also going to ask what the subscriptions are for.
Have to admit if work told me i had to pay to go on a compusary trip then i would probably refuse especially with the financial sitution both you and i am in. Admittedly i dont' know your exact circumstances so understand that you weren't able to say no.
Fingers crossed that you can struggle on for this month, as has been said before Christmas is for family, there are free gifts you can give, such as vouchers towards things- car wash, spring clean, babysitting services all things which people will appreciate but will only cost you time.
Good luck keep going on this journey we'll all get there in the end.
  • Thanks everyone for your posts.

The subscriptions are just something I have to pay each month in my bill from work. I'm in the Army, so lots of stuff gets added on to my mess bill.

No chance of getting extra work I'm afraid. Wouldn't have the time even if I was able to.

I have about £10 of boots advantage points saved up - will do the 3 for 2 and get my brother sister and nephew's pressies from there, and just apologise.

Have just put my treasured mp3 player on amazon for £200 - hope it sells! It is the cheapest of it's kind on there.

Tonight my lovely boyfriend is taking me out. I feel really bad because he keeps spending money on me, but he says he'll have a rubbish time if I'm not there. I'll pay him back in kind ;) and then take him out when I'm rich and debt-free!! :p

Natwest are now harassing me to pay back that overdraft, so it looks like I'll be paying these ridiculous amounts for a while to come :(

Citezens advice is not just for going bankrupt. they can help you contact your creditors and re negotiate payments on your behalf or with you. Often sending a creditor an income and expenditure list, they sometimes will let you pay a more realistic repayment. Its always worth asking them to. As any payment is better than none to them. With Citizens advice onboard it often works better. Just a thought.
I agree with everyone else that this is a good place to sound off, get advice and inspiration from others in the same position. good luck.

:santa2: Just wondered how you were doing? The large mess bill seems high. Do you live in the mess then? Are you using all the facilities that they charge you for? I am not in the Army so I dont quite understand the system, although I know that my Dad was in the RAF and when he had to live away from home he lived in the mess and the extras were a worry to him and my mum, and that was 30 years ago!!
Good luck with sorting out the debts.
I hope that you still make good of the christmas, remember presents dont make christmas, people do.

    try talkin to smile again.

they took away my overdraft and i said i could only afford to pay it back £50.00 a month at most.

they said i could only do multiplys of £20, so they suggested £40. which i agreed to.

the woman said £20.00 would've done.

To be fair she was really helpfull, she said it would need a review in 6 months, she told me to make a note in my mobile phone diary and call back up in 6 months, but she said they would just accept the £40.00 again.

I'm sure if you explain this to them, im sure that they can see that your wages are gone within days and ur probably going over your limit.
Watch this space.... Will update soon!
