Money Savers Arms

Last ooorders!… We’re sorry but for now, due to resources, we need to close the Money Savers Arms including Discussion Time.

It’s not easy to write this. We love the forum, but we also have a job to do to protect it, our users and MoneySavingExpert, and at the moment, with all our resources focused on Coronavirus information, and all the team at home, we don’t feel we have the resources to do a good enough job.

For four months, we’ve been struggling to cope with the huge volumes of messages we’ve been getting from Forumites – many of whom are in desperate and dire straits with their finances. The team have been working all hours to try and keep on top of it. At first we thought it’d be a short sharp spike, but it isn’t, it’s continuing, so we have had some difficult choices to make about prioritisation.

Unfortunately in, and likely because of, these stressful times, the Forum team have also been receiving an increasing number of complaints about posts made on the Money Savers Arms and Discussion Time. The team have done what they can to try and walk the tightrope of balancing all the various interests, but for now we need to draw a line under this and temporarily close this Board, so we can keep the key, MoneySaving boards – where people are supporting each other through this crisis - running smoothly.

We know this board is important to you, but as the MSE stance has been forbearance throughout this crisis, now we ask that of you. We’re sorry. Of course you can post on other boards, but we’d ask you to stick to the subjects of those boards, and not use them as a surrogate Money Savers Arms or Discussion Time. And as always please be kind and friendly to each other, especially any newbies.

Thanks
MSE Forum Team

    I've been Money Tipped!
It is too hot for me BUT I after months and months of cold and rain and, of course, lots of snow, I'd far rather this hot weather.

I am lucky that I don't work. I get up early and do some housework then I can sit indoors in the cool with all the windows and doors open.

I'm finding it much nicer than the usual hot humid British summer. Here it's been a very dry heat with a gentle breeze most days, very Mediterranean.

It's just right up here, but I do wish we'd have some rain, I'm fed up of watering the pots and garden every day. Still it's better than the rubbish we usually get every year :)

I am so jealous! I wish I had air conditioning, the heat is killing me. With my Irish roots and red hair I was not designed for this weather. I live near a beach and we are having a walk on the beach every evening when it is cooler and usually a nice breeze.

Having the very pale skin that goes with having/had red hair has been the bane of my life. I hate the heat and my freckles get freckles.
I can burn just sitting at the traffic lights. :(

If things get too hot, they do generally smoke :rotfl:

I'm feeling the heat and I have NEVER smoked in my life. :(

    So no generalising thank you.

We couldn't have lived here without it, given my husband's lung condition - now he's gone I'm not giving it up!

Well I'm reporting you to the Air Conditioning Police. :D

Why should you be smug while the rest of use are being boiled like lobsters!

Well we won't get any rain yet.

The Government haven't yet appointed a water Czar.

They did in 1976 and within a few days of his appointment, we had a deluge over the whole country.

I love it and would be happy if it lasted until next summer as long as it occasionally rained overnight.

I'm not a fan of the heat, I much prefer to be around 16°C for comfort although I have to say, so far, the heat hasn't been unbearable and I've enjoyed the freedom of just walking out of the front door without concerning myself with the likes of a jacket (I hate sleeves).

On the flip side my lawn is now dust, all it's missing is tumbleweed. The local greenery is now brownery, the local wildlife is going a bit wobbly in the heat so I've started putting out water bowls around the place, and I'd like it if it could just be a little a cooler in the evening so I could sleep a little better.
