  • NSD yesterday! I really don't have enough NSDs so I am going to set myself a challenge to have 15 NSDs between now and payday (23 days away) - today has already been a spending day as I bought some energy drinks this morning and I will need to buy food for my rabbits after work, I think I am being especially nice to them at the moment after eating rabbit on holiday and feeling a bit guilty!

  • Hi DragonPie

    How is it going.
I'm so jealous about your holiday in Malta, I haven't been since I was a kid. I'm desperately trying to persuade Mr Star that we should go next year. I will wear him down. :rotfl:

Just a thought but what about keeping a monthly tally on here of your spending categories. What your budget is and spend to date.

It could give you some accountability.
The pension thing is annoying. I don't understand how your companies payroll could have mucked it up. Although I would be tempted to leave that amount in your pension and budget accordingly. Barely any of us are really preparing for our pensions properly...It is something that is very much on my radar at the moment. My plan is that from now on any pay rises I get will go straight into my pension. I should get about £2k by the end of the year so along side what already goes into my pension that should bring it to 12.5% contribution of my salary...my ultimate goal is 25%...I wanna be a rich b1tch drinking champagne on my yacht. a girl can dream :rotfl:

    Take care

  • We had a lovely time in Malta, I went a few years ago in March and it rained for most of these time that I was there so I couldn't appreciate how beautiful it was, this time it was glorious all week and I was amazed at how clear the sea is... Keep working on Mr Star!
It's a good idea to put my spending tally up on here and what the budget should be... I'll have a look at my spreadsheet and put up some figures.
The plan for the pension is to get the debts and mortgage paid off (hopefully in the next 5 years) and then throw any spare cash at my pension.

  • Despite setting myself a challenge for NSDs, I still seem unable to manage them! It's usually a £1 or so each day but I am still spending (£1 for cake at the Macmillan coffee morning today, new exercise mat yesterday (which was £9!) and Wednesday was £2 for shampoo and conditioner). Quite low spending most days but £1 each day is still going to add up to £365 by the end of the year.

No wonder that I am in debt. Today, I got a bag of clothes ready for clothes for cash, I had to remove some of the labels to get rid of them, stuff that either didn't fit or just wasn't my style, but I have spent money on these things just for them to sit in my house and then sell them for about 1% or what I paid for them, so wasteful.

  • You don't see how well you are doing Dragonpie. In recognising the behaviours that got you into debt and finding them frustrating means you now have awareness. You will do this. Keep on keeping on :)

2nd NSD in a row today... It wasn't supposed to be but I have forgotten my purse lol. I have realised this morning that I have 2 weekends between now and Christmas where I have nothing planned and am busy on all the others, the budget is going to need to be very creative for the next couple of months!

Well done on the NSD. DIA is right, you are recognising the problems that got you into this position and taking action. That's such a huge step.
    Well done

Thanks for your support and positivity, I think it is harder to see the positives for your own situation but I am getting there slowly but surely :-)
