    Thanks Crunchy,

Yes, it is hard with day to day supply as you could get a late call and with a little one to organise, it isn't always ideal.

One way in is the TA role like you said. I know a lot of people that volunteered as readers for a few hours a week, and ended up getting taken on as a TA. I know tons of school are desperate for people to help volunteering and it's a way of getting over the 'career break' and getting a reference from a recent school as well.

Even when they phone me the day before a potential placement I freeze because I have made plans or husband has calls and can’t do the school run.

I’m definitely going to do ‘something’ from Jan if not before as I need a job. As a full time TA I would bring home £350 after childcare costs so at least it is something. Full time teaching I would bring home about £1400 ish. I said I never wanted to go back and was sure this Avenue would be better but I think I would be more stressed from being on ALL the time.

With teaching I’m determined to take it one half term at a time and pace myself with a big fat bull sh*t bubble around me. Thinking about the money and the time it allows me with the children over the holidays. Husband is around a lot more now to help.

Next week I’m going to properly start work on my blog as a know how to market it now and I also know ways I can make it pay for me. It will be really good to keep my marketing skills up for the future as once the children are older I would love to work for an charity - not sure in what capacity but it on my bucket list and would be great to not put these skills to waste.

In other news husband and I had our first Friday night without booze in probably a few years! I didn’t miss it at all. The life coaching lady I listen to has helped me facilitate this move and calls it ‘buffering’ and once you stop it you have to face up to what is your actual life. For me booze was a treat for surviving a week in my life. Now I’ve realised my life is actually my life I can stop drinking to help me deal with it and face up to the emotions. Sorry for the ramble but discovering her podcast has literally changed my life.

My dd is nearly 4! Which means it’s been just over 4 years when I started a diary on mse. My oh my things have changed a lot in that time. We have also been in our new house for nearly a year! Time does fly and you have to make the most of it!!

Sure - it’s The Life coaching school by Brooke Castillo.

It has literally changed the way I think about everything! If only I had discovered it a few years ago!!

    Hello lovely money saving people!

I’ve been crap at posting I’m sorry. I had a really tough week when husband was away for 4 days which through up loads of personal things for me. Like a lightbulb moment but for my feelings about myself. There were lots of tears and feelings of crap ness as I realised lots of stuff I’ve beeb blocking out for years but now I feel soooooo much better. I understand the link between mental health and debt now ha ha!!

It’s now half term here so enjoying some time off with the kiddies. I have tackled my drinking demons and am now sober and proud. I have also applied for 3 jobs so hopefully will have an interview next week.

It’s payday tomorrow so I’m officially drawing a line under the last year and starting again so expect some long boring posts where I talk to myself and make sense of stuff! Ha ha!!

This weekend is our sorting ourselves out weekend!!

    Hope everyone is good

Thanks CT - I'll be sure to check out the Life Coach Podcasts - I certainly need something to give me a good kick up the backside :D

It sounds as though you've had a real breakthrough with understanding your self and how it's affected your life. Well done you for facing up to difficult things and moving forward. ((hugs))

I'm hoping to also have a 'sorting ourselves out weekend' - I certainly need it.
Good luck with the interviews - fingers crossed for you. X

    Happy Friday everyone!

Payday today for the husband so I can do a good food shop later after we have been to see some friends.

I started making a long term financial plan last night as a word doc. I’m working things out for 3 years ahead. We are in no hurry to get rid of the debt this time. Obviously it would be nice not to have it but for once it’s not holding us back in any way. It will be minimum payments and not getting into any more debt which will be our focus for next year.

Right better get a wriggle on!!
