(p.s, I'm taking off the debt I owe M&D from my total debt for the time being, until I come back from my holiday on Feb, as I won't start paying them off again until March - just though I'd let you know so you didn't think over a thousand pound have disappeared from my debts!)
  • Morning all,

I have been having a think over the weekend about how I work my debts.
At the moment, I have my debt totals and I each week I make a payment, I knock that amount off of my debt.

This sometimes gets me in a right old mess, (especially if I find a spare tenner here and there to throw at the debt) because I have new totals before the money has cleared on my debt.

    For example…
On Friday, I put £100 towards my £500 credit card debt.
New credit card debt total is £400... BUT!!!
Balance doesn’t reflect this change until the following Thursday.
Therefore, for nearly a whole week I am thinking one figure and my accounts are showing another.

So from now on, I will only look at CURRENT CLEARED DEBT TOTALS…
It’s the only way to make sure that I don’t get confuddled!

So, current cleared total debt today, 17.12.2007 is…
    £1,600.57.

There. Done! On Friday I will have a new cleared debt total.
  • I've made 10GBP profit on Amazon this weekend! :D
  • Hey lovelies!

Today I have found that I have made £13.00 on Amazon through sales and accrued £20.00 in Pigsback points (I’ll redeem them for Boots vouchers to buy all of my toiletries for the next couple of months!)

Feeling very positive about the debt / budget at the moment as I’m bang on track!

    Yippee! :D

Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month
  • morning!!!

WOW! I've made another £25 pounds on Amazon... overnight!

    Blimey!
    :D
  • Damn!
I've just found out that I'm only going to get holiday pay to cover 2 days over Christmas... I HATE being a temp sometimes!!!!

That means my whole budget for Christmas period is shot to bits...
I'm going to be seriously skint and I'll have to use my Christmas money from my folks to cover that period! *sniff*

It was bad enough having to use my birthday vouchers to pay for all of my Christmas presents this year.

I'm feeling really sad now. *sighs*.
I can't even re-jiggle my budget because I don't know exactly how much holiday pay I'll get.

Oh, I'm so fed up now!!!!

Oh Pickle I'm so sorry. That has to be the worst bit about being a Temp, is there nothing in your Budget that can be moved to make things a little easier?
    Current debt - £16,300 :(
    Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek:
:ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A
  • Hey Lucy! Sadly there isn't... I had such a tight budget that every penny was accounted for.
The only option I have is to do the following:

    · Leave all money in my account and cancel any payments to Credit Card / old O/D.

    · Spend £5 from my Christmas money from M&D on food for the rest of the week.

    · Budget myself £60 (from Christmas money) on my Christmas week away.

    · Wait patiently to see how much money I have left when I come home from Christmas break.

    · From the money left, pay rent and split the rest between Credit Card and old O/D

    · Use all of my nectar points on food for the Christmas week away (about £35)

I’m so nervous! And stupid! I thought I had enough money to cover 4 days of holiday, but it works out only half of that (after tax).

I’m just going to have to ride it out. Darn it! If I could come into work over Christmas, I would... but a group of us are going AWAY to the countryside for a week, so it’s not an option. L

As long as I have enough for rent and some cheap food, I guess I’ll be okay... I just need to get this credit card paid off.

I’m off to enjoy one of my last ciggies... after this pack runs out, I certainly can’t afford to buy any more. (see there is a silver lining – healthwise – I guess).
  • just sat and read through your diary!
