  • I'm going to Oz & NZ.

ShineyHappy - what a complete pain about your sofa! I have Pigsback.. have about £5.20 on that to claim, and quidco too, but I don't buy anything, so never use Quidco. I mean I've been doing the free clicks / internet searches, but don't even have enough to cover the £5.00 yearly cost...

Can't get a check out job at Sainsburys as they only want day-time people... darn it!

Okay, okay... I know that this is going to be an amazing trip... so I'm going to try really hard to not think of it as another debt... otherwise, Lucy, you're right, I'll stress about it and won't end up enjoying it!

Going to 2 weddings and to visit the 'in-laws'...

Wow that sounds great!! I hope you have a good time!

There are links on the freebie board to all the free sign ups on Quidco. Have you done the Whiskars one? 1.45 for getting some kittens but you "must" have kittens under 6 months. I pretended my hamster was a cat and lied about his age. I gave the cat food to my OHs cat though and he enjoyed it. I have 6 pounds tracking for getting my credit report and there is 5 pounds for signing up to some windows thingy.

Have you requeasted a Virgin catalogue (50pp) and a local ITV local newsletter (50pp)?

  • Oh FORGET IT!!!! I'm rubbish at weekly totals!
  • Things to do:

List on eBay – Will probably time this to end on a Sunday night, so will wait until early next week.

Look into 0% Credit Cards – I should have almost enough to cover my plane ticket, but I will, in all likelihood, be just short. So if I can get a 0% on new purchases CC, then I won’t have to pay any interest and I can pay off the rest when I get home.

Use birthday vouchers for Christmas shopping

  • oh darn it...
I applied for a credit card with HSBC today (I mentioned above that I would be looking in to getting a new one for payment of my trip).

I was turned down as my credit rating was poor. I checked my credit rating this morning (I get it monthly from check my file) and it said that I was rated as 3 out 5. Not amazing, but not too bad either. It said that I would be eligable for credit with most lenders.

I'm really sad about this. I didn't want to use my Barclaycard as it has a massive 21.9% APR.

Grr! I feel real angry and sad now.
I've done everything I possible can to get my credit rating up.

I've got all addresses up to date, all electoral roles up to date, paid on time for everything for the last year and it is better than it was this time last year.

I guess it goes back to when I couldn't make my monthly minimum payments last year.....
I feel like crying! Including interest, it's going to cost me far more to go away now....

    poo.
  • Okay, in a panic now. Need to breath….

I seriously don’t know how I’m going to get the money for the trip.
Oh god, oh god… it’s not so much the flights (if they are on CC, then as long as they are paid for that’s okay) but it’s covering rent whilst I’m away, not being paid whilst away (I’m a temp so will have only accrued a little holiday leave).
Then there are the (at least minimum) payments on my credit card whilst away….
    Oh god.
    Breath, breath, breath…..

I’m going to have to do something drastic I think like getting that second job or maybe even selling myself…

    I can just see me now… 50p anyone? 20p? Anything??? :D
  • Hey all… well, I’ve done it! Flight booked! Ekk!
Now I gotta pay it off as soon as humanly possible!
    ARGGHHHHHHH!!!!!! (but yay too!)
