  • DOH!!! Ignore my previous workings!!! I re-jiggled the spreadsheet and found that I can be debt free up to a month sooner than I thought if I just do it the right way.

I'll be debt free with CreditCard and old Overdraft on 18.01.2008, leaving only my loan from mum and dad and that will be paid off by 18.04.2008.

That means I'll be completely debt free by 18.04.2008!

    That's better!

  • I still haven’t got around to making a list of eBay stuff, but I’ve been having a massive sort out and now have a box of stuff to take photos of, write descriptions for and list…

But…OMG! I listed 1 item that I still had a photo for and guess what??? It sold!!!!
I can’t believe it… I’m so shocked! I TOTALLY didn’t think it would sell as I had already listed it twice before! That’s another £4.80 towards my debt (taking into account the eBay charges)!

    Yay!!!!! :D

That’s given me so much motivation to make sure I get that list done, photos taken and sell, sell, sell! And also, it’s a good time to do it, considering Christmas is coming up (ekkk! That’s the first time this year that I’ve said the ‘C’ word!).

    Great start to the week!

I’m really feeling down today. I’ve got this big trip in Feb and I have to save for the plane ticket (£800.00), plus rent to cover the time I’m away in Feb/March (£575.00), plus spends whilst away too (£???).

It means REALLY tightening my belt. Maybe walking to work and home a few times a week rather than getting the train.
The walk is and hour each way, but if I could do it, it will knock about £10.00 per week off of my out goings and get me fit too.

My big problem is the smoking. I simply can’t afford it anymore. I HAVE to stop.
I might get a packet and sit down on Friday night and read the whole Alan Carr book again… in one sitting.

Things really are tight. But if I can keep my shopping bill at under £10.00 per week and cut out the travel, not go nuts when I go out etc, I can maybe have the ticket paid for by the end of the year??

There is also the option of getting a second job. Something I don’t want to do, but feel that I might have to. All this right on top of Christmas... (oh yeah, and talking of Christmas, presents for my family are going to have to be bought with vouchers I got for my birthday from work - hupf!!!)

I simply can’t face another Credit Card debt to get through. The thought of it drives me completely nuts. I have worked hard to get the debt down and to have another plonked back on the top is a terrible feeling.

*edit: I know this seems really princess like and I don't have half of the debt others do, and after all, the debt I am looking at getting myself into will be because of an amazing trip. Sorry if I offended anyone...

When all of the money you earn goes on rent and debts, it’s rubbish. Truly rubbish.
But if I can save between now and then – really save – then maybe I can have it all paid by May 2008…including the money I owe mum and dad.

I'm just letting it get to me, I know that... I'm just SO OVER IT!!!! I think I need a couple of days off from work...

  • ‘tother side of the world me darlin’...as far as you can possibly go! :D
  • Have you Quidcoed and Pigsbacked as much as possible for some extra cash for Christmas?

I know what you mean about cant face another debt to get through. I have been snowballing my debts, which it turns out isnt always the right thing to do. My mortgage is due for renewal the end of Feb and according to the underwriter that is my brother, I should have paid off my 0% sofa first as that has the highest monthly payment. Doh! So now i have to find 600 quid asap to pay that off. I want to do it the first week in Dec so 360 rent from my lodger leaves 240 to find and I really cant face borrowing from my OH or my family after I worked so hard to pay back the 500 I borrowed before. Either that or shove it on a cc but I really really dont want to do that. Oh well it could be a lot worse!

Where are you going on your trip?
    Debt Free - done
    Mortgage Free - done
