Our team's decided (not sure who or how
) that it would be good for people to take turns bringing in home made cake to the office. I was out of the office when this was decided & muggins here is the first one on the list.
Before we start, I have no problems with the idea, but I'm a savoury, not a sweet person when it comes to turning out edible & yummy food.
I'm not a competitive person, or so I tell myself:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: , but would like soemthing easy, yet vvvvvvvvvvv good that just happens to be better than anyone else's. I've been scratching my head all week & can't commit to a receipe, have rushed home from work because it's due tomorrow and I haven't even started it yet...
Thought of biscuits as a cop out:p , but it has to be a cake.
Have had a scrounge in the kitchen & I have
*oats
*bicarb, baking powder etc
*eggs
*any flour of choice
*marg
*dried fruit
What I don't have is imagination or time to go out to the shops.
Please help save my pride and ego from a bashing:T

Flap jacks is the only idea that I can come up with, sorry, but I only make cheap stuff.

Do you have any bananas?
This is very easy and slices up into lovely moist pieces.
Banana Bread
8oz S.R Flour
3oz Butter or Marg
6oz Sugar
2 Eggs
2 Bananas mashed
2oz Nuts optional or 4oz raisins etc.
Cream butter sugar. Add all other ingredients.
Bake in lined 2lb loaf tin at 170º
for 1¼hours.
Check after 45 min. It’s done when a skewer comes out clean.0 -
i would be suspicious that as soon as a couple of people get to their turn the idea will be out of the window. you'll have gone to the effort for nothing, or maybe i'm cynical.
just to be mega MSE - can i ask why is this necessary?
tell your colleagues to have an apple instead!0
