Hello Comrades,
The day seems to have disappeared in a flash today. I think a few tasks took longer than I anticipated & suddenly it was 5pm & nearly dark. Anyway, no spending whatsoever today & a few useful things:
*Changed meal plans as found a cache of forgotten bendy veg. Used it with YS chicken pieces in slow cooker to make a casserole. I only need to steam some home grown cabbage to go with it, as added potatoes earlier this afternoon. I'm finding with slow cooker stews/casseroles that if I start them off at around 10 am, potatoes work better if they go in at around 3pm as they are cooked, but still firm & not mushy by the time we eat it. You know what? I'm boring myself with this! I'll get on with it.....
*Made pink grapefruit marmalade - it's for my Mum to sell for her church fundraising. Plenty of it, so filled 12 jars for Mum, 1 for our stores,1 for a gift & a little dishful to eat this week. All recycled jars from my stash, washed & sterilized.
*Harvested our small crop of winter cabbage, which really should have been cut before now but with one thing & another, I am behind with the garden. Prepped, blanched & froze 3 bags, plus some for tonight's meal.
*Paid cash from marmalade sales across to Loan Pay Down Fund.
*Did a few surveys while the grapefruit mixture was simmering.
*Entered a prize draw.
*mr f took leftover lamb stew from freezer for his lunch today - those big plastic microwave soup mugs are really good for taking leftovers for work lunches, he says, as the seal is good.
*Knit. No, not done any yet, but the night is young. I will probably do some while watching 'Winterwatch'....I looked forward to it all yesterday, then conked out as soon as it was on!
*Use-it-up.....have started using up the last third of another lipstick with my lip brush.....it just seems so ridiculous to buy a product then routinely throw a third of it away because it requires a brush to finish it off. I wouldn't bin off the last third of any other beauty product or toiletries, so I'm not wasting perfectly good lippy either.
1LL - I totally agree with your comment the other day about how much product you must have been wasting before you started cutting tubes & bottles open. I have honestly had conditioner bottles standing upside down, I've slammed the base of them hard before using, shaken them, etc, until not a drop more will squeeze out, then when cut open, there's sometimes as much as a week's worth left! One hair product that I like, which is in a pump bottle.....when that 'ran out' & I investigated, I found that the plastic tube for the pump didn't even reach to the bottom of the bottle! So I chucked that & just poured out what I needed until it really had all gone.
OK, think I'll get Mum's marmalade all nicely labelled now.......better just check what cat is up to. He's gone strangely silent.
Have a nice stress-free evening, all.

Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -
* Came back from local supermarket with half a freezer load of YS bread products. That'll do us for a while.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0

Well, I have no idea at all if we can edit our posts properly or not now  so decided to copy this morning's effort
Morning all
Brr, cold and frostyhere this morning but at least it isn't raining, or not yet anyway:D I was up before 6 as I was awake and the dog was barking. Already done a few bits
* Put the recycing box thingy out for collection today
* Cleared dishwasher and washing up rack
* Sorted out the ledger I use for my (very) small business. Doing it first thing in the morning is obviously a good thing, as my adding up was spot on when I rechecked :T Normally I have to go over it several times as I get bored part way down the page and make a mistake
Cooked fruit from freezer for breakfast instead of bought fresh fruit
Got some blackberries out to stew when the oven is on later, as I have now run out of cooked fruit
Tipped the frozen berries into a bowl to defrost, washed out the bag they had been stored in, and pegged it out on the line to dry for reuse
Load of washing in machine
Still to do:
Ring surgery re asthma review appointment. Tried yesterday but couldn't get an answer on the phone. I suspect I will have to actually go there if I can't get through today
It is annoying, as I don't need to go, and they are busy, but it is one of those box ticking things that needs to be done otherwise they get funny about giving my repeat prescription - and without my inhalers I definitely WOULD need to go there  Done :T
Washing on line once done Actually got 2 loads out there, oneof which is now on the airer to finish off... and I suspect the other will go back out tomorrow if it doesn't rain, otherwise airer!
Freezer tetris (again
) as I am expecting a Campbells order today. They sent me voucher codes and I couldn't resist
Done
Must buy loo rolls, but I don't think I need anything else today. Have started a list, but will hold off doing a shop for at least another day. I can get a pack of loo rolls at the corner shop, with no danger of temptation to buy other things (nothing very tempting to buy in there unless you are into cheap booze and lottery tickets :rotfl:) Actually decided there is enough there to wait till tomorrow!
Lots of leftovers that need using for lunch. Nice ones, too
Done
Something from the Campbells delivery for dinner (meal planning fail
but sort of deliberate as I knew the delivery was coming) Done
Check banks and update spreadsheet Done
Check for surveys - I have been rubbish at this lately! Done but simply got screened out of two for onepoll
Cleaned bathroom and washed floor
Hoovered round downstairs and dusted furniture
Put a pile of gift bags that I know I won't use onto freecycle. If nobody wants them, they can go into the recycling.
Listed 1 item on ebay (as I had to iron it first  this is probably equivalent to half a dozen or so :rotfl:)
Hope everyone has a good day, and that we can find each other this evening when we check back!0 -
Late check in. Thanks for all the copy and pasting Carrie. Wonder what your superhero name would be :rotfl:
My list:
2 x FiT in 5 workouts at home that I’d recorded form tv
Wrote gym notice for DH and I
Need to withdraw money from savings and pay tax bill
at least we have the money so I can’t complain
Meals from stores, 6 of us eating from 1 lasagne
Still going on the torte
Check banking, surveys
Washing shuffle on radiators
Managed to get tumble dryer to heat up again following a you tube video, but now it’s not spinning. That may be beyond my repair skills but I’ll have a google when I have more time
Brainstorm a business idea I’ve had where there may be a gap in the market
Some more box set from free trial tonight
Right off to get small from Brownies.0 -

Morning
thanks for saving our posts Carrie!
eurgh I've woken up with a back ache and a scratchy throat! Hope I'm not going to come down with madam's illness as she has been really ill and generally is better at being ill than I am! I was supposed to be going to Whitstable for a wonder around the Chazzas with a friend and treating her to lunch as she's having a tough time. So I guess feeling under par is pretty MSE then! I've dug out a simple pasta recipe for lunch instead
other MSE things:
* have tidied round d/s - employing strategy "what would bff do?" :rotfl: d/s v tidy!
* continue with anniversary gift project for oh :lovethoug - I spent a couple of hours on it yesterday and it really has taken shape now...
* all meals from stores
* if taking madam to ballet (depends on back....) then go and collect oh's car when friend goes home. Then I will collect him after work :money:
* start sewing pads - did cutting out yesterday. But not entirely sure I'm happy with the template. Will see when it's sewn...
* knitting, reading & relaxing
* sent a mum at school a message to see if she'll have madam one day next week after school so I don't have to put her in asc 5 days...
* have already read newsletter but need to read again. Not very focused at the moment....
can't really think of much else at the moment....DF as at 30/12/16
