Aldermore Mortgage

Options
Hi,
I am in the process of purchasing a property and was advised by my lawyer that completion would take place last week. Hence I asked the seller if we could start moving in as i ah e a small child and need everything set before we move in. The seller was happy to give us the keys and we subsequently moved our property and then ourselves. However, completion did not take place and Aldermore requested further info which I submitted.

Two days back they called and asked me to verify various info about myself. When they asked my current address I stated we had already moved into the property and now they’ve siad they are reviewing the case and asked myself and the seller to explain why we were allowed to move in before completion.

I’m scared they will withdraw the mortgage as a result of this as they are being very vague about everything, what are the chances of me loosing the house?? And what can I do about it??

You did not NEED everything set before you moved in. You could have moved in and sorted everything out over 24 hours. People move every day of the year with small kids and seem to manage it. Or you could have put the bulk of your stuff in the new house and stayed where you were until completion actually took place. I moved house with a 1 day old baby.

This will probably get resolved but between the 2 of you, you have caused yourself avoidable headaches.

With you ending up with Aldermore, I am assuming there are other issues, so chances are your options are a little limited. IF you have a broker, I would be on the phone to them first thing on Monday.

  • Yes the other issue was my husbands credit history wasn’t great as he’s never borrowed before or had anything to bring up his score. Regarding the move, as we were temporarily staying with family in an already over crowded house we thought moving in earlier and getting set would be best. Did not realise it would become an issue or we’d have never moved earlier.

I’m just hoping Aldermore release the funds on Monday or we will have no place to stay as we can not go back to the family members we were at.
  • I’ve already contacted my broker and she’s said to wait until Monday for a response.
