The Promotion opens 9:30am (GMT) 18 December 2017 and closes 5:30pm (GMT) 14 January 2018 (the ‘Promotion Period’). No entries submitted before or after the Promotion Period will be valid. The promoter has the authority to amend, extend or withdraw this without prior notice at any time during this period.

6. All valid and successful entries made during the Promotion Period will be eligible to win the main holiday prize (‘Grand Prize Trip’) consisting of:
a. Return flights between London and Tokyo and connecting domestic flights between Tokyo and Kyushu from JAL (See below for terms and conditions)
b. 4 nights’ accommodation for two people at ONE@Tokyo (See below for terms and conditions)
c. 2 nights’ accommodation for two people at Hotel Shiroyama Kagoshima (See below for terms and conditions)
d. 1 night’s accommodation for two people at Wasure no Sato Gajoen (See below for terms and conditions)
e. Guided tour and meal at in-house restaurant at Sengan-en and Shoko Shuseikan (See below for terms and conditions)

7. All valid and successful entries made during the Promotion Period will be eligible to win one of two runner up prizes as follows:

b. Japanese Artisan Gift Set Prize x3 (See below for terms and conditions)

8. Grand Prize Trip Terms and Conditions
The Grand Prize Trip must be taken between 11 April 2018 and 25 March 2019 and is subject to the following block out dates:
- 27 April - 07 May 2018 (Golden Week)
- 15-24 September 2018 (Silver Week)
- October and November 2018 (peak autumn season)
- 28 December – 03 January 2019 (New Year holiday period) and is subject to availability.


9. All travel, holiday or health insurance, passports and any required visas shall be the responsibility of the prize winner(s) and not the Promoter, Administrator or Prize Partners.

10. Travel dates may be restricted.

11. The accommodation and flights must be taken at the same time as part of the same trip. 12. JAL Terms and Conditions
a. The prize is one pair of return air tickets in Economy Class on direct scheduled JAL services between London Heathrow and Tokyo Haneda and connecting domestic JAL services in Japan, including one stopover in Tokyo, all taxes, airport facility charges, fuel surcharges and other necessary charges (both passengers must travel together). If the winner chooses to add one extra stopover in their flight itinerary then Japan Airlines will charge a fee of GBP 75.
b. Flights are subject to Japan Airlines general conditions of carriage for passengers and baggage.
c. JAL cannot change the flight dates or passenger names once the tickets are booked. There is no embargo period but if the flights chosen by the winner are full in the designated booking class, the winner will be asked to choose alternative travel dates.
d. The booking can be made from 3 months prior to the departure date and must be made at least 8 weeks before the preferred date of travel. All travel must be completed between 11 April 2018 and 25 March 2019.
e. Receipt of the prize is conditional upon the winner having a valid passport and visa (if appropriate) permitting travel to the relevant destination, with at least six (6) months’ validity.
f. The prizes are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be substituted for any other prize or cash value. No extension of dates, or change of destination is allowed from those specified in the terms and conditions.
g. No upgrade or no mileage accumulation is available.
g. No advance seat assignment is available until 24 hours before departure when the web check-in becomes available.
i. In the event that the winner, for any reason, does not accept the prize or any element thereof, then the prize (or the relevant element) will be forfeited by the winner and neither cash nor any other form of compensation will be supplied in lieu of that forfeited prize (or the relevant element).
j. JAL accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from accepting any prize and advises entrants that independent financial advice to be sought in the event of winning.
k. The winner must be over the age of 18 with a valid passport to travel (valid for at least 6 months beyond the return date from the trip). Winner and the accompanying persons must obtain all visas, permissions and other documentation required. JAL is not liable for the costs of obtaining the correct entry documents.
l. By accepting a prize, the winner accepts full and complete responsibility for their own safety and welfare at all times and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, agrees that JAL shall not be liable or responsible for any risks or damages associated with or arising out of the winner’s acceptance of the prize.

13. ONE@Tokyo Terms and Conditions
a. The winner will be entitled to a four night stay, for two people sharing a Loft Room, pending availability. If a Loft Room is not available on the winner’s desired travel dates, alternative dates, or an alternative room type may be suggested.
b. Breakfast will be included.
c. Any additional costs, such as, but not limited to, room service, meals in the hotel restaurant, drinks, telephone calls and laundry, must be paid by the winner.

14. Hotel Shiroyama Kagoshima Terms and Conditions
a. The winner will be entitled to a two night stay, for two people sharing a Superior Sakurajima View Twin Room, pending availability. If a Superior Sakurajima View Twin Room is not available on the winner’s desired travel dates, alternative dates, or an alternative room type may be suggested.
b. Two breakfasts and two dinners will be included.
c. Any additional costs, such as, but not limited to, room service, drinks, telephone calls and laundry, must be paid by the winner.

15. Wasure no Sato Gajoen Terms and Conditions
a. The winner will be entitled to one night stay, for two people sharing the “Tsubaki” Room, a Premium Room with Private Onsen, pending availability. If the “Tsubaki” Room is not available on the winner’s desired travel dates, alternative dates, or an alternative room type may be suggested.
b. Breakfast and Dinner will be included.
c. Any additional costs, such as, but not limited to, room service, drinks, telephone calls and laundry, must be paid by the winner.

16. Sengan-en and Shoko Shuseikan Terms and Conditions
a. The winner will be entitled to complimentary entrance to and a private guided tour of Sengan-en and the Shoko Shuseikan Museum for two people and lunch for two in the Ohkatei restaurant at Sengan-en.
b. This prize may be used only in the following period: 11 April 2018 and 25 September 2019.
c. The winner must contact Shimadzu Ltd. one month in advance of their date of travel and provide the following information in order to claim the prize: Name of recipient and guest, Preferred date of travel, Contact phone number (contact details for Shimadzu Ltd. will be provided to the winner by JNTO).
d. The prize may only be claimed by the recipient of the JNTO competition.
e. The prize may only be used by the recipient and one guest.
f. Reservations for this prize shall be made a minimum of one month in advance of the date of travel.
g. In the case that reservations cannot be made on the requested date an alternate date must be selected.
h. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.
i. In the event of cancellation the prize will be annulled and may not be claimed at a later date.


17. Japan House London Restaurant Prize Terms and Conditions
a. Prize is a course dinner for two at the Japan House London restaurant with a value up to £150. Any additional drinks or dishes must be purchased by the winner.
b. The prize must be used by 31 October 2018.
c. The winner must book via email at least one week in advance. Booking details will be included in the winner’s prize notification letter.
d. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.

18. Japanese Artisan Gift Set Prizes
Three Japanese artisan gift sets will be given away in this competition:
a. Artisan Gift Set #1
Koshu Wine Package: containing 1 x SUS wine cooler; 1 x ultra-thin Shotoku wine glasses - set of 2; and 1 x Grace Wine Koshu wine
b. Artisan Gift Set #2
Nabe Hot Pot Package: containing 1 x donabe; 1 x donabe trivet; and a donabe cookbook
c. Artisan Gift Set #3
Bento Package: containing 1 x mage-wappa bento and a bento cook book
d. Winner of the Koshu Wine Package must be over 18.
e. Artisan Gift Set prizes can only be delivered to UK addresses.
f. All prizes will be sent out before the end of March 2018.
g. The Artisan Gift Set Prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and not redeemable for cash or other prizes.
