To be honest if you are planning on going bankrupt you will probably have to forfeit the money you have (probably be able to arrange to keep money for living expenses for a few months id talk to cccs about this).
If this is the case then, here come the boos, why not treat yourself to a holiday for a couple of weeks to get away from this.

I think for yours and the babies health this will be a good thing

  • Hi there

I don't know much about IVA etc, but just wondered have you spoken to any of the creditors direct and asked how much they would accept in full and final settlement?

Not very up on this topic so apologise for my ignorance....

I would think that by careful managing, you could make £22,000 last for longer than a year. If it is only you & the baby, "sensible spending" could make it go a lot further. That "sensible spending" probably doesn't include holidays...i don't know how the OR would view that. Maybe take a look at the Bankruptcy Board to get a more accurate view of what they regard as acceptable disposal of inciome?

And I don't mean to be harsh, but what's the problem with facing up to what you have accumnulated in debts and using the redundancy to clear a big chunk of it off? What would you have done if you hadn't been made redundant?
