The '6 month rule'

Hi all, were after some help. We are in the process of buying a property and selling our current home. Most things have been done and I think exchange is near.
Our solicitor mentioned a couple of weeks ago that he will need to make the mortgage lender aware of the reason that the house we are buying has only been in the registered owners names for less than 6 months. This is due to the fact that they inherited the house and after probatecetc was done, I guess they just decided to register it in their names?! At this point I did not see it as that big an issue.
We've now had another letter were the solicitor had once again mentioned that he will need to specific authorisation from the lender to be able to proceed. Our lender is Nationwide. He has not told us that they will not give authorisation but the wording has now caused me to worry.
Typically the letter came on Saturday morning and the solicitor isn't back in until Monday afternoon. So, my question is has anybody else been in this situation and how did it work out for you?! Or can anybody put my mind at ease? :eek:
