Teen's frame only glasses

Also come to think of it, if the MI "practitioner" is not an optom, ophthalmic medical practitioner or dispensing optician they shouldn't modify a dispense made by someone who is licensed to dispense glasses to a child.
So if you find a DO/OO/OMP who is willing to privately prescribe and dispense a pair of Plano glasses suitably fitted to the child anyone who replaces those lenses would also need to be a DO/OO/OMP or they face prosecution for illegally dispensing to a child under 16.
I wouldn't touch this set up with a barge pole. As I said where I am based the arrangement is; child has an eye test, child is referred with prescription NHS glasses (if required) to be assessed for MI syndrome, university carries out assessment for fee, university write back with detailed information regarding lens requirement and issue acetate overlays, if parent wants lenses the university supply the lenses for a fee direct to the optician who referred the child, new frame (chargeable) is chosen, lenses glazed into frame (for a glazing fee).
Child ends up with NHS glasses with clear lenses and private glasses with tinted lenses.0 -
