I've been entering competitions daily for months now and still no wins!!
Just wondering how long did it take you to get your first win?

Years ago I entered my first competition through heart radio and surprisingly won, first time around. (I wasn't comping I just entered randomly)
After I started comping, I received a win in my first week or so, I get around 3-8 small wins a month.
If you love books, then joining Goodreads and entering their competitions may help get you some wins.
Also entering lower entry competitions can also help your chances - so newer Facebook pages often give away something to help get their pages advertised.
Rafflecopters and Gleams often show how many entries a competition has, these are sometimes more of an effort to enter, so some people don't bother.
There are sometimes competitions posted on the forum for 1 of 1000 prizes, these give you more of a chance to win.
Some competitions require you to collect, so it is always worth following local places to you on social media.
You aren't always notified straight away of a win, I've had competitions where things just turn up or get notified a month later, so don't give up. I wish you the best of luck!Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.0 -
I started on Feb 1st the year, I do roughly 600 prize draws a week, plus around 100-150 social media (T/FB/I) per week and the odd purchase necessary. My first win was a book after 2 weeks and since then have won over 120 prizes, including a holiday!! If you are not winning, you may need to look at how many you are entering per day/week/month, or try to find lower entry comps or creative ones. And, sounds obvious, but double check that the forms are being filled out correctly, for example, sometimes when I autofill, it still wants to autocorrect some of my details.
Hope this helps and good luck!Started: 30/01/17

I'm a few months in and still at zero... I worked out that I have entered 4000 competitions so far.
Fingers crossed our day will come...0 -
The whole thing is random.
You could win the first day, or not for a year.
You could get more than one prize in a day or nothing for months
You could win big, or just a DVD
They say the more comps you enter the higher the chances - who knows.
Nothing is guaranteed
Just enter and forget
Be pleased with a win but dont dwell on the prizes you didnt win.
There are always more competitions to enter.
You wont make a living from comping but hopefully it will be fun (most of the time) and sometimes will add a bit of sparkle to your life.
ETA : I had a bit of comping sparkle today and its that that keeps me going0 -
This is my first month, I have entered approx 1,500 - 2,000 and haven't won anything to date. I do enjoy comping though and mainly do it as a hobbie ....I suspect if I don't win in the new few months though I may reconsider, but for the moment, it's fun 0

Within the first month. Someone left behind a Take a Break in our caravan, so I did all the puzzles and sent it in, in my mum's name as I was under 16 at the time and she won £50!
That was about 25 years ago! :eek:Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none.

I was serious about comping a couple of years ago and spent hours at it. I won about £6k -£7k but was spending too long at it so I stopped for over a year.
About a month ago I started again, but I only entered about 50 comps for prizes that I really really wanted, all high value over £1k and then my laptop broke. I got it fixed about a week later and had received an email saying I won a trip to Italy.
It really is the luck of the draw as sometimes you can enter thousands of comps and get nothing, and sometimes you can enter a few and hit the jackpot. There is no formula but, although I have been very lucky this time, you do generally have to enter more comps to up your chances.2017 wins = £1350
2016 wins = £125 (18 months off comps)
2015 wins = £6,460
2014 wins = £1,3500 -
About a week. It was a book from a site called Bangzo (I think ...) they had a daily competition to win a book and I won on there.
Keep in mind that in the first month or so you are mostly building up your entries, it takes time for the competitions to end and then for them to contact you. It took months after a competition ended for them to contact me once - and the prize was a bed worth over £1000.A closed mouth gathers no feet.0
