Stew recipe's

Looking for some stew recipes, I like stew nice and thick like the consistency of in a steak pie. Can be any kind of meat although lamb is a particular favourite. Thanks in advance.

I've never tried it with lamb, but I do like Jamie Oliver's 'Jools' Favourite Stew', which is a beef stew. I generally play about with the vegetables as I'm not that fond of squash in stew (too soft and sweet) but it's a good, relatively faff-free basic recipe. The gremolata topping is nice but not at all essential, and I generally make a big batch and freeze some - it makes a great pie filling.0
