What's the minimum pension pot

I would say £750K is a reasonable worry-free number per couple with no mortgage and no further pension provision other than 1-2 SPs coming in at 65-67 with a comfortable though not lavish standard of living.
Singles perhaps can vary more in their requirements. One could be a hermit living in a 1 bedroom flat, another may be someone with a very active social life in an expensive part of the country. It's the standard of living which is more significant than the number of people.0 -
I am planning for £800k pension pot, for a couple, with 2 state pensions kicking in around 67, and no mortgage prior to retirement at 55.0

£450k by the time I get to 60 in 4yrs is our figure, though may have to still work part time. Far less than we would like but OH is 10yrs older than me and we would like to make the best of the time available even if that means living frugaly.0

Nah, the rates from WeBuyAnyWife.com are rubbish anyway.;)0 -
That you would consider retiring on at 55.
No debts, house paid for.
There is a basic flaw or 2 in this question.
First of all, it isnt just a retirement pot you need to consider, but your retirement pot combined with all other assets (liquid or equities or property but not your main residence) and the income it generates now or in a reinvested situation once liquidated.
I personally would not want to retire with less than 800K in cash, pensions and assets.0 -
Im 54 seems im abit "adrift" from the quoted figures on my tinpot private sector pension having had the FS ripped from under our feet 10 years ago. Plus now of course with companies possibly been able to reduce their pension liabilties if they are showing poor results which opens it upfor companies to show false accts so the pensions are ripped apart further
Total rubbish0 -
My piece of string is twice as long as from the middle to one end.0
