Xbox360 - Where's the best deal?

My lad want's an XBOX360 for his 12th birthday. He says he would like the Elite (Hasn't that got a bigger disc or something?)

Where are the best deals?

Any pitfalls to watch out for (like getting a non-uk one or something off Ebay?)

Are they still doing the elite with 2 games in HMV for £299?

think they are - instore only, try gamestation too. Woolies are listing a motorsport pack for 279, but it doesn't tell you what you get. I'd get it on the high street to be honest, will save a lot of hassle if/when you get a fault.

Gamestation are doing a game and a wireless controller for £299 (a car racing game I think). I guess 2 games is a better deal, especially if you get a choice

Incidentally, what does it cost to play online? Do you pay a monthly subscription or PAYG?

OK, I’ve had a dig around. There seem to be 2 bundled deals both at £299.99:

Elite with Forza 2 + an extra wireless controller

Elite with Blue Dragon and one of; Spiderman, Transformers, Stuntman Ignition, Moto GP 2007, Stuntman Flatout or Darkness


Which is the best deal?

I guess it’s down to the games you like but I’m thinking that the first one is probably the better bet as then you can choose which games you like. Also the choice of games do look like ones that are slightly cheaper.
