Adding more solar panels

Options
Already have a 4kw system but may have room for another 4 panels (1kw) horizontally beneath the 16 already mounted.
Not too fussed about the extra FIT but I assume this will require another inverter.
Any idea of the costs of a 1kw system?.
4kWp, South facing, 16 x phono solar panels, Solis inverter, Lincolnshire.

There's some info in section 10 of the FAQs.

You can't claim FiTs on extensions anymore, but you can link the panels into the old system, so long as the inverter is suitable, and your FiT provider will apportion the generation, so in your case they'll pay out on 4/5ths of the TGM reading.

You can of course set it up as a separate system, with its own inverter, but remember that leccy savings are unlikely to rise proportionately (by 25%) as you'll get diminishing returns as you go bigger and bigger ........ till you add batts and an EV! ;)
