I can start a new thread and let it run without updating the front page same as the weeklies. As I post most of the mags with CP1 the posts can be deleted when they expire keeping only live comps on the thread. and anybody can post them when I am away in my caravan, that's why I wont run the thread updating front page as I spend 3 or 4 months away each year. I will post mine like this in post below.
I do it just for fun and whatever I win is a bonus

So each comp will have its own post?
There are approx. 200 comps on there at the moment. if people have the board set up for 20 posts on each page that's 10 pages to go through each day (or whenever people do their mag comps)?!0 -

It's far easier to bookmark than wade through all the stuff you don't enter, and then use Roboform to fill the answer boxes.
It will be handy having all the mags in one thread though, so I think It's a good idea.0 -

Over the past few days I've moved away from the lists at the start of the thread. I've set up bookmark folders for each of the mags and saved each of the comps that I want to enter into the relevant folder. Then if the thread is run as suggested by the OP, all I have to do is check the last page of the thread for new comps and add them to my own folders, then delete as and when they expire. It took a bit of setting up and a few days of tweaking but this morning I whizzed through and entered in record time because in my lists there are only the comps that I want to enter- not the whole list to trawl through.0 -
really I'm think of all those who are not as organised, who don't dedicate time to setting up systems, who perhaps come here to comp ad-hoc, for which the current set up is pretty easy.
last time there was a major change to the mags there was great debate on a poll thread.0 -

Feel free to start a poll.:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
I'm guessing people would vote for an all singing all dancing thread but the problem is that no one is volunteering to run one0

Perhaps if WeAreGhosts is reading this, she could update the first post of the current thread to make it clear that the thread will soon be out of date if a new volunteer is not found, since not all forum members visit compers chat corner and may not be aware that this is even an issue.0

That'd be me. Except I never enter the dailies so on a purely selfish basis would be quite happy for them to have their own thread, so I could whizz through the rest more easily. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
