    Bless Your Heart,

Pian killers don't seem to work on this either

Yes the GP came out day before Christmas Eve & prescribed drops for day & ointment for night but on Christmas eve the chemist would only give me the ointment & not the drops because you only need to use one or the other?!.I explained what the GP said but nope they would not give me them.

To be honest, if the GP prescribed you both on your prescription, the chemist should not have refused you them! I trust my doc more than the people who work in my chemist. I would tell your doc the next time you see her and give the chemist a ticking off or two TickTwo! Boohoo toodleloo! :rotfl:

When my kids had it I would use cool boiled water on a cotton wool pad and wipe just once from inside to the out of the eye then throw away and repeat on fresh cotton wool then use the drops. Meant they could open eyes and I could actually get drops in.

    Get well soon xxx

A few weeks back we had our dog at the vets with gunky eyes and was told it was conjunctivitis (keep reading it is relevant ;) ) He gave us a tiny bottle of eye drops told us to put one in each eye twice a day for a week and if it was no better to come back and charged us £41 for the pleasure.

Back home I Googled eye infections and cures ect and found one that is good for hoomans and woofs and it did work.

Put a tea bag in a cup cover it in boiling water (No milk or sugar) and let it cool then give it a stir, put one drop in each eye twice a day. I can honestly say this worked better than the £41 tiny bottle from the vet.

Google something like "cold tea in eyes for conjunctivitis"
(It has something to do with the tannin in the tea) ;)

My dog got conjunctivitis in the Autumn and I bought a tube of Golden Eye ointment from boots for around a fiver and it cleared my dogs eyes up in 2 days! I was recommended it by my breeder who says it is the same stuff the vets give you and is cheaper than paying to see the vet!

A few teabags are even cheaper and worked grand ;)

Vets are thieves and they know we will pay
