Can't sleep for worrying about debts - HELP!

I am new to the forum but have been on the website during my sleepless nights wondering where to go next. By reading previous debt-free wannabees I know that I need to list my Statement of Affairs - am petrified and embarrassed to actually type in the figures!

I think I have had a icon3.gif moment! Like these wee icons - they are cheering me up already!

Will start compiling my stuff and get back to you. Hope someone can help me get out of this never-ending worry. I am looking for advice but ultimately I know that I have to stop spending and get a grip.

It's scary at first but it's a fantastic feeling when you realise you are back in control of your finances even if you are still paying debt.

You know I went through the same thing about 6 weeks ago, I couldn't sleep or anything. My problems were further complicated by having debt in my 19 year old daughters name which I refuse to reduce.

I didn't post here but, once you start listing what you have & get advice on what to do, you will feel so much better. I still have a couple to sort but I feel so much better than I did 6 weeks ago when I could see no end to it.

  • It doesn't look that bad, at least you have more going in than out, so we just need to see where the savings can be made.
The one thing that stands out is the food bill, I assume that's for 4 people? I'm sure that could be cut. Also do you pay tv licence quarterly? change to monthly. D
Does dd really need a mobile phone?
You seem to have quite a few ppp are these all needed or could you cancel?

Ok, just a quick look, but there are definite areas to make savings...extras like golf, guitar & dancing spring to mind. Also food...

My kids used to earn pocket money by doing chores, and youngest DS had fortnightly guitar lesson as part of his pocket money, they also got £10 top-up a month as part of that too.

  • What ages are your children? Old enough to get a Saturday job? Make them earn their own pocket money if poss.
