The FCA warned financial companies to improve their defences against cyber attacks.
Then the FCA suffered a major IT incident!
Of course UK companies are not obliged to reveal when they have been subjected to a cyber attack.
Maybe we need legislation for companies to reveal what happened, and what if anything was stolen.
Made me chuckle tho'.
Cheers fj

Of course, you're conflating two different things:
- the need for financial services businesses which offer regulated financial services to the public to guard against cyber attacks from bad people and to implement a holistic security culture.
- the fact that the industry regulator, which does not provide investment, banking, insurance, or other commercial services direct to retail or institutional clients, suffered a systems outage due to some faulty Fujitsu hardware within its own infrastructure.
Still, I guess you're not one to let facts get in the way of a story that makes you chuckle while you only superficially browse the headlines.0 -
