Absolute shambles from broker's side... unsure where I stand!

  • I received an email this afternoon from the head broker apologizing for the stress and delays but he put most blame on Halifax credit decisioning team, not really acknowledging that the most delays were caused by them not submitting docs promptly.

I wish someone could just tell me if we're getting any closer to an offer or if we're doomed :embarasse:embarasse

Inherently, if a bank asks for more documents, is this a good or bad sign?

Depends on your views on glass half full, half empty.

The fact they are asking for more means they havent rejected it yet. However, it means it hasnt been accepted yet and the initial application was not sufficient to pass first time.

  • Small update w application. Called up Halifax today to be told they were STILL waiting on P60s! But to be honest, I've now lost a lot of my initial fire and felt like a popped balloon, so I couldn't really gather to energy to be to cross (despite it being almost 2 weeks since they've had my P60s). Emailed the guy in charge of my application anyway as I've been having pressure from housing association and vendor to complete (shared ownership purchase) and he emailed back to say my application is currently at Halifax head office under assessment and we should hear back by Monday/Tuesday. Not sure if that means he sent P60s today or not, didn't ask. Hope we hear an answer by then, not another request for documents!

Is it standard for all applications to go to head office? And does this mean I passed at the credit decision team?
  • My response won't be too helpful I'm afraid but I can totally understand your frustration. Very poor practice by your broker...especially as they still have not received the P60s. Would they not allow you to submit it to them personally? I guess that self employed cases are a little harder to assess but surely they should be used to these? Has your broker given you any indication of the cause of the delay?

fingers crossed you get good news next week.
