TSB - 'Decision Crediting Team'

Hi All,

To be up-front, I've posted on another thread about this issue, but that one seems more about people sharing their experiences as opposed to dealing with specific questions so, on that basis...:D:D...anyone been through the TSB mortgage application process? Wondered how folks' experience compares to ours?

We've sought our mortgage through London & Country, with TSB. Initial application and full credit check fine; just asked for payslips. Our valuation is done and satisfactory to the bank. TSB asked for one further payslip from my wife.

We're both employed full time. My wife is permanent (new starter which apparently TSB are fine with), myself on Fixed Term Contracts - me £6k personal loan outstanding (all up to date) plus have a 5.5 year old freak default which passed the credit check no bother and shows as £0 (originally for £260) on Experian (the sole CRA of TSB), income of £54k (with a new 12 month contract set to begin of £60k p/a). My wife = no debt, income of £66k (lucky her). 10% Deposit on a house valued at £515,000 (bl00dy London property). Deposit funded from savings and (completed) sale of wife's flat in Scotland.

We had been told by our broker to expect a decision today, though they've now said our application is with the 'Decision Crediting Team' (I think she meant 'Credit Decisioning Team'). I had a feeling the broker was waffling as this is the third time we've been waiting for an update and told 'three more working days', so rang TSB who said the decision has been referred to underwriters (which I suppose 'credit decisioning team' is a euphemism for).

Completely understand this is always a waiting game, but wondered if (any) others' experience compaerd to ours?

Good luck to all and thanks for an excellent forum which I'm just starting to post on but have followed for years.

Jonny

  • Hope so, though a colleague went valuation to full offer same day which has fed my paranoia about it.

The underwriter it was referred to also asked for proof of deposit source today which we've sent. I'm hoping if they've got that far, we're okay on affordability and credit as far as underwriters are concerned...
