Two Flavours. One must be Destroyed. Which one, and how is up to you.
No purchase necessary. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning.
1. The promotion is open to all residents of UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland who are over 18 years, excluding employees and their immediate families of Walkers Snacks Limited (the “Promoter”), its affiliated companies, OMD, Fitzroy, Jaywing, Canvas Blue, Havas & AMV BBDO, their agents or other persons professionally connected with the promotion or PepsiCo.
2. By taking part in this promotion all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these rules.
3. In the Republic of Ireland this promotion is being carried out under a lottery licence granted by the District Court of Dublin on 2nd September 2015. The lottery licence is held by Simon Community, 1-2 Cope Street, Dublin 2, Charity No. 5963. The purpose of this lottery is to raise funds to help prevent and address homelessness in Ireland.
4. Competition Period: opens at 00.01 on 13.6.2016 and closes 23.59 on 4.9.2016. Entries received after this date will not be judged or entered to win the prize.
5. Choose the flavour to be destroyed and you could win £20,000 cash (or Euro Equivalent in ROI). Two Limited Edition Flavours (Doritos A – Sizzling Salsa or Doritos B – Ultimate Cheeseburger). One flavour must be destroyed and we want you to tell us how to do it. To enter you must:
a) Submit an entry with your own original and creative idea of ‘how’ the limited edition flavour must be destroyed; and
b) Tell us which of the two limited edition flavours must be destroyed. You do this by entering the relevant hashtag #DoritosA or #DoritosB referring to the flavour to be destroyed (“Destruction Idea & Hashtag”)
c) Bold ideas submitted as ‘destruction ideas’ or ‘elimination ideas’ will all be considered as the same and judged against the same criteria. For this promotion ‘destroy’ and ‘eliminate’ are considered to have the same meaning and application.
d) Entry can be made via our UK website www.Doritos.co.uk, our UK Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/DoritosUK, our UK Twitter account @DoritosUK or our Irish Twitter account @DoritosIreland.
e) Entries will only count if done via one of these pages and if all steps above are followed correctly.
f) Entries must not be longer than 140 characters. Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entries longer than 140 characters.
6. TO SUBMIT YOUR BOLD IDEA VIA – DORITOS UK WEBSITE: During the Competition Period visit https://www.doritos.co.uk (the “Contest Website”). To write your Destruction Idea to destroy the one flavour (“Destruction Idea”), click “Submit Your Idea”. On the “Submit Your Idea” page, follow the instructions as they appear on screen to select the flavour you want to destroy in your Destruction Idea. Your Destruction Idea may not exceed one hundred and forty (140) characters (including spaces and including the correct hashtag for the flavour you want destroyed). To destroy Flavour A #DoritosA and to destroy Flavour B #DoritosB.
7. TO SUBMIT YOUR BOLD IDEA VIA – DORITOS UK FACEBOOK: During the Competition Period, visit facebook.com/DoritosUK (the “Contest Facebook Page”). To submit your Destruction Idea, post to the DoritosUK Facebook wall and including the correct hashtag for the flavour you want destroyed. To destroy Flavour A #DoritosA and to destroy Flavour B #DoritosB. Your Destruction Idea may not exceed one hundred and forty (140) characters (including spaces and including the correct hashtag for the flavour you want destroyed).
8. TO SUBMIT YOUR BOLD IDEA VIA – DORITOS UK OR IRELAND TWITTER: During the Competition Period, tweet @DoritosUK on Twitter (the “Contest Twitter Page”). To submit your Destruction Idea, tweet including @DoritosUK and including the correct hashtag for the flavour you want destroyed. To destroy Flavour A #DoritosA and to destroy Flavour B #DoritosB. Your destruction idea may not exceed one hundred and forty (140) characters (including spaces). Destruction ideas will also be counted if submitted via the same process and criteria but including @DoritosIreland (rather than @DoritosUK).
9. No purchase is necessary to enter or to win. You do not need to have tasted or bought the DORITOS® Flavour A (Sizzling Salsa) or Flavour B (Ultimate Cheeseburger) tortilla chips being sold in promotional packaging (the “Product”) at retail locations across the United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland to enter the Contest or win the prize.
10. Promoter reserves the right after the competition closing to decide which flavour product will be destroyed.
11. Entry Conditions - Each Entry must:
a) Be an original work, created solely by the entrant, and over which the entrant has all necessary rights, title and interest, including copyright;
b) Not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, copyright or defame or invade the publicity or privacy rights, of any third party, living or deceased;
c) Not use the brand names, trade names, or trade-marks of any third parties;
d) Be primarily in English;
e) Not contain or make any reference to any branded food or beverage products other than the Product;
f) Not exceed one hundred and forty (140) characters (including spaces and including the correct hashtag for the Doritos you want destroyed) in length as submitted;
g) Be suitable for family audiences and for display and publication on national television, in the sole determination of the Promoter. Without limitation, Entries shall not contain or describe any content that is or contains: the promotion of unlawful behaviour, political in nature, profanity, nudity, explicit sexuality, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, or is hateful, discriminatory or otherwise offensive or objectionable;
h) Have been created specifically for this Contest, and have not been previously published, or entered into, or received any awards in, any other contest or competition;
i) Be consistent with the Promoter’s corporate image;
j) Be consistent with local law or applicable and legitimate self-regulation; and
k) Comply with these Official Contest Rules as published and available on the respective Promoter websites/social media pages.
12. The Promoter reserves the right to create any entries submitted and share these on any media platforms that it so chooses and the winner acknowledges that he/she will not be entitled to receive any additional payment, title or rights over the creation or the idea used. The Promoter reserves the right after the Contest Period, at its sole and absolute discretion, with or without notice, to change the Entry submitted as part of the Grand Prize-winning Entry. The Promoter reserves the right at any time, in its sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify any entrant and to remove (or to refuse to post) Entries from the Contest Website or social media pages that it finds or believes not to comply with the conditions above or otherwise with these Official Contest Rules. Without limiting the generality of these Rules, Entries that are determined to be, or suspected to be, in the Promoter’s sole discretion, the subject of any scheme designed to compensate individuals for engaging in activities online that directly increases an Entry’s chance of winning may be disqualified from the Contest and/or any associated prize may be forfeited. 14. JUDGING CRITERIA
a) Initially the entries will be sorted by relevant hashtags for the two limited edition flavours.
b) The Bold Ideas will then be shortlisted by a Judging Panel of the Promoter’s choice, by reviewing the entries using the criteria below to allocate a score at their discretion for each entry (the “Judges’ Score”):
i. Creativity – 50%
ii. Brand fit – 25%
iii. Originality - 25%
c) The Promoter will choose the winning limited edition flavour (within 5 working days of competition end date) and based on the commercial success realities of the respective limited edition flavours where these products are available.
d) Within 5 working days of the promotion close, the shortlisted entries for the winning flavour will be assessed and the Destruction Idea entry with the highest score based on the judging criteria in 13.2 will be verified and declared a winner. The winner will be notified by social media private message or email and once the winner has been verified and complies with all the competition rules, the announcement revealing the winner will be made within 28 days of the promotion closing.
e) In the case of a tie or draw, then a second judging round will take place where the Promoters will involve an independent judge of their choice, to score the Destruction Idea entries using the same criteria in 13.2, and determine a winner.
f) In the case of entries where the Destruction Idea is similar or the same, the Promoter will consider the entry submitted first in time and which reflects the winning limited edition flavour hashtag, to be the first entry.
g) The Promoter reserves the right, during the promotion, to share and create Destruction Ideas submitted via any entry method as inspiration for other participants across and not limited to social media channels and select websites. By doing this, the Promoter in no way is endorsing an entry and it does not increase the chances of that Destruction Idea winning. The use of an entrants name alongside a creation would require approval in advance but the use of a Destruction Idea is at the promoter’s discretion.
15. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of a prize winner's identity in the form of a passport or driver’s license and proof of address in the form of a utility bill. In the event that a prize winner cannot provide proof of identity and proof of address reasonably acceptable to the Promoter, the Promoter may withdraw the prize and/or offer the Prize to the entry with the next highest score.
16. All entries must be made by the entrant themselves who thought of the unique idea. Bulk entries made from trade, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted. Incomplete or illegible entries, entries by macros or other automated means (including systems which can be programmed to enter), and entries which do not satisfy the requirements of these terms and conditions in full will be disqualified and will not be counted. If it becomes apparent that an entrant is using a computer(s) to circumvent this condition by, for example, the use of 'script', 'brute force', masking their identity by manipulating IP addresses, using identities other than their own, using multiple email addresses or any other automated means in order to increase that entrant's entries into the promotion in a way that is not consistent with the spirit of the promotion, that entrant's entries will be disqualified and any prize award will be void. A maximum of 10 entries per person per day will be accepted.
17. Any attempt to deliberately damage or interfere with the website used in connection with the promotion or the information on it, or to otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of the promotion may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, whether successful or not, the Promoter reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Promoter reserves the right (subject to applicable law) to disqualify and/or ban any individual who tampers with or attempts to subvert or interfere with the Promotion website or entry process or prize retrieval process.
18. If for any reason the promotion is not capable of running as planned as a result of any technical failures, unauthorized intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond the Promoter’s control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the promotion, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion and/or to disqualify and/or ban any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused or has attempted to cause) the problem. If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation.
19. A failure by the Promoter to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any entrant or prize winner, nor shall it be deemed to be a waiver of any of the Promoter’s rights in relation to the same.
20. There is one prize of £20,000 or the Euro equivalent if winner is in ROI. This will be won by a single winning entry chosen from the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
21. Winner redemption will be as follows:
a) Cash Prize: The cash prize winner will be informed and contacted through their application method and requested to supply their address and bank details. The cash prize winner will receive their prize within 30 days of providing their bank details
22. The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for any alternatives in whole or in part. The decisions of the Promoter are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winner is solely responsible for the payment of any applicable taxes associated with the Prize.
23. The name of the winner and winning idea will be posted on the Doritos website page at https://www.Doritos.co.uk
24. Except as specifically set out herein and to the maximum extent permitted by law, all conditions, warranties and representations expressed or implied by law are hereby excluded. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter hereby excludes and shall not have any liability to any entrant or prize winner in connection with or arising out of this promotion howsoever caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited prizes, damages and other liabilities, provided that nothing herein shall operate so as to limit or exclude the Promoter’s liability for personal injury or death caused by its negligence or liability for fraudulent misrepresentation. 20. There is one prize of £20,000 or the Euro equivalent if winner is in ROI. This will be won by a single winning entry chosen from the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
21. Winner redemption will be as follows:
a) Cash Prize: The cash prize winner will be informed and contacted through their application method and requested to supply their address and bank details. The cash prize winner will receive their prize within 30 days of providing their bank details
22. The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for any alternatives in whole or in part. The decisions of the Promoter are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winner is solely responsible for the payment of any applicable taxes associated with the Prize.
