What about the other non-EU country Australia where we export more to than all the EU countries combined.
haha, now that's the kind of fact I expect from the exit camp.
UK exports
Germany 9.8% - Australia 1.2% never mind the rest of the EU...0 -
Somewhere in London there is the back of a fag packet with a plan on it. No idea what it is, but I doubt it is a very good one.
No doubt in Brussels there it a much better plan stitching us up like a (U)kipper.0 -

Well the slightly good thing is that the UK economy is more diversified than it ever has been. A lot of UK businesses are foreign owned even the FTSE 100 is largely foreign owned. At the same time UK investors own a lot abroad. And we are big importers
We also receive a lot of money into the UK from people who want to live here and arent all that much interested in business in the UK. eg a lot of very rich arabs come to the UK and the fall in the pound might see more of them invest and come to the uk.
This should hopefully limit the EU from wanting to punish the UK but there is always the chance they will knowingly or unknowingly bite their noses off to spite their faces.
Brexit or no Brexit I feel The UK needs a government push to sell more of what we are good at. For example the UK could potentially expand its university sector for foreigners who pay lots and lots of money to study and live in the UK. We have some world class universities who are oversubscribed by tripple A grade students. Spend some money advertising them around the world. Likewise with tourism.0 -

All the distraction I see in this country has been created by our own governments. The EU has not plunged us in to pointless wars and regime changes that has resulted in the current migrant crisis, the EU has not ripped the heart British industry and left people with so little hope that they are easy prey for the poison spread by UKIP and others.
It was not the EU who imposed the poll tax on Scotland, that has eventually led to the almost enevitable break up of the U.K.
I am now faced with being ruled by an unelected right wing government who are likely to to chuck out rules on working conditions and environmental protection, and they are certainly not going to help those working class people in the run down industrial north and Wales improve their lives, although they will almost certainly keep the subsidies flowing into the shires to the big land owners happy.0 -

I guess if you hate the UK institutions and our democracy then I can see why you are happy with the EU.0 -
I'm talking about MY business, not the UK!!! Come on, try and keep up!

So you want out of the EU because being in the EU doesn't really affect you, since most of your sales are elsewhere?
To be fair, your business sounds like it's in quite the minority, and can really take advantage of the tanking pound.
For companies for which EU countries make up a large portion of their trade (I've heard from a few where it's about 50%), whilst business is on the up right now (due to the favourable exchange rate), they are all worried that if there are trade restrictions (like customs paperwork) or tariffs, it'll completely sink them. Admittedly, these are niche companies that sell mostly to end customers with lowish transaction values (<£50), so the additional bureaucracy has a large % overhead.0 -
