Vanquis - it's going ok

Well, I must be doing something right, I started off in March last year (discharge date) with a £500 credit limit & I've had several limit rises up to £1750 & a gold card a few months ago (lucky me - a letter on very posh paper!).
I've just had another email saying they are going to increase to £2500 in four weeks time!
I only use the card for odd bits each month & every so often let a balance roll over to the next month. I primarily keep the card for any vet bills (that will then be paid by insurance) so a higher limit will be handy.
Just thought I'd post something positive. Mind you Capital one have only given me one small increase - tight wads!

That's good news

I started to rebuild last year. Started with Capital One they gave me £1500 straight away. Then barclaycard initial £400 and that increased to £800 after 5months, I was able to upgrade to the freedom rewards card after 6months. I did get a vanquis card last March £500 I've not had it 4months yet so I don't expect any increase for a few more weeks.0 -
I'm still undischarged and i had a letter through the post in a posh envelope saying that i have been preliminary accepted for a Vanquis and a credit limit from £500-£1500. Don't understand how they can offer an undischarged BR something like that?0

Nothing stopping them legally, and lots end up running a high balance which at their interest rate is profitable0

Capital one must like you more than me, I've had mine for 18 months now but still on crappy £200 limit 😓

I was shocked when it was accepted @ £1500 I actually have 2 cards issued by them both cards the same limit. Neither have been increased but not bothered I always pay in full each month. I'm gonna call them soon as you can merge 2 cards into 1.0 -

Capital one were generous with me too and I've got a defaulted(partailly satisfied) debt with them still on file due to IVA. Aqua raised my limit after 6 months, but vanquis haven't adjusted it at all in 18 months.0 -
I was discharged in September but Vanquis turned me down for a credit cardxxx Nikki xxx0

I'm the same.
I asked Capital One for a credit increase and they declined me!!
I'm stuck on £200 which is not worth the toss!!0 -
Hi which ones would you recommend to get as I'm discharged in August and want to start rebuilding my credit rating as quickly as possible.0

Vanquis and Capital One and I think Aqua are the ones to try.
Those that were turned down/on a low limit, have you cleaned up your credit files?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
