GOG.com (formerly Good Old Games) are having a summer sale, and also stress-testing their new game client.
If you download their Galaxy client and go to the store with it, you can add System Shock 2 to your account for free. There's no obligation to continue using the client (or even use it for System Shock 2) - you can immediately uninstall, but you'll still have a DRM-free copy of System Shock 2 on your account.
Go to GOG.com to download the client, and then get the free game through there.
(System Shock 2 is a great game, an absolute classic!)
