Hi there, thank you for your thoughts and kind words^^

Just a brief update as I am still at home. Everyone is very sad about the whole thing.

Mum has been offered some experimental treatment which may extend her life up to a year if it works as it should. She is a bit calmer now but we have all met up this weekend as a family and we are meeting up again on Tuesday as it's Norway's national day and its tradition that family see each other on that day.

I have managed to relist things on eBay today and have worked on my self employed translating stuff while I have been here, so have been a bit MSE.

  • Hi SY,

Just wanted to add best wishes and sympathy to you and your mum, a little late but I have only just seen your thread. My mum also had cancer twice and endured several operations and very unpleasant treatment, I live a little way from her so feel for you, because it is always hard to be apart from family in these times.

I hope you get some good news soon and your mum is as comfortable as possible.

    My thoughts are with you,

Hello^_^ Thank you for all your kind thoughts.

Back from visiting my Mum now, I stayed with her for two night and surprised her with a Thai takeout (not very MSE but nevermind! Anything to get her to eat!).

My husband and I are planning to visit her in July now. It won't be cheap as everyone else will be booking their holidays etc. but needs must.

Still plodding along in the Silver household. Trying to get more stuff listed on the Bay of E for Sunday and I have signed up to T*pcashback today as the pet insurance was due for renewal so managed to get £50.50 cash back with that. Yesterday we had leftovers for dinner and I used my Clubcard points to get us and a friend cinema tickets for when WarCraft comes out. So being as MSE as I can be. Not sure why Cineworld insist on taking a 50p booking fee for each voucher but nevermind.

Just keeping things ticking at the moment. Feeling very tired all the time which is not like me.

OH's parents surprised us Saturday night by coming and planting some herbs in our garden. We have never had a garden so they are teaching us how to look after plants - it was a lovely surprise. They planted a lavender, a rosemary, some geraniums and some ladies' mantle plants.

Seven things sold on Fleabay yesterday so have posted those today. We need to see my Mum in July now so have booked those flights via T*pcashback to get something for them, not cheap but needs must. Going to make some dinner now and get the washing going so I can peg it out tomorrow while the weather is nice. ^_^

You are blessed to have nice in-laws. What a thoughtful thing for them to do for you two. I have been married twice and my first MIL is a dream ( even though her son was a cheating @$&!!@) and we call and visit each other often. My second MIL (deceased) was a bat out of hell! We kept her for the last years of her life and as she really detested me, it was quite difficult at times. But, I made it and my husband adores me for my efforts.

Excellent news about those sales!! It's wonderful that your efforts are paying off.

I keep thinking of you and your mom. Saying prayers!

  • Ohdear Mila, it seems we can't have it both ways, but I am glad you still have a good relationship with your first MIL.
Yes OH's inlaws are lovely, both of them, but his mother especially, she's just great. Very supportive and knowledgeable about lots of things. She is a therapist which often helps! XD

Today was my day off so I spent some time going through boxes and deciding if it could be put away, fleabayed or if it needs to go to the charity shop. Pegged washing out so could dry in the sun. It is OHs birthday on Monday so going to Lidl as I have a £5 off £40 voucher and his friends are coming over this weekend. I've got us tickets for the new WarCraft film on Monday with my clubcard vouchers so that's a good saving. He really likes Yo Sushi so we might go there next Monday for Blue Monday (can't go otherwise as it's too expensive!) and that will be my birthday present to him.

I think he will love doing all those things! And very MSE. Good planning!

My DH's Bday is coming up in June, so I had better get to planning. He is a loving supportive hunk of a man!! Gotta keep him well tended to.

    Thinking of your mom.
