Shoes for Walking

Can anyone recommend any shoes which are great for walking?
More walking than hiking.

Men's and women's suggestions welcome.

Depends on your budget, I am on my third pair of Merrell gore-tex lined walking shoes and my OH also has some, not the cheapest but waterproof, comfortable and last for years.

I second the Merrell suggestion. Quite the most comfortable walking shoes which I have ever owned, although I did have to go up a size from normal

Another vote for Merrell. All the walking shoes I have had from them have been exceptionally comfortable (and my feet can be a bit tricky!) I tend to opt for the Goretex shoe rather than boot.
