I've been sacked help please

I have been sacked for gross misconduct. I managed transport at my place of work and had some goods delivered to my house and forgot to book them out on my staff account. I maintain I am not a thief and it was that the day was that busy I just forgot. Next thing I know I get a letter telling me I'm being investigated. I went to the investigation interview and because I think the investigator has something against me I lied and when he found evidence that I had lied , I lied again. The main manager was on holiday And I knew he would understand so in the hearing I told him the whole truth and that I lied to the person investigating because I was trying to save my job and speak to him as I believe the person investigating would get rid of me at all costs and doesn't like me (I was told I couldn't speak to the main manager as he was the person doing the disciplinary hearing). I have now been sacked for theft and lying in the investigation and it says they have lost all trust in me.
Why would I risk my job of 7 years for such a small amount of goods
, I earn a very good wage !!!!!
The person doing the investigation (he is a manager also) has questioned me before in regards to theft (only verbally) and I proved that I had booked the goods out so I believe he's been watching me and has a grudge against me.
I want to take this to a tribunal , do I have a case ?

Don't waste your time and money - you absolutely do not have a case. It doesn't matter that it was a small amount of goods. Or whether you forgot. They have no reason to believe you because you got caught lying twice in the investigation. That is game over - a clear case of gross misconduct. I'd have to say that most employers would have sacked you, and the dismissal is fair in law.0 -

Or why would you forget to do something routine after working there for 7 years?
At best you were incompetent, at worst you were trying to steal! You MIGHT have just got a warning had you not liedBut to lie when you are being investigated about possibly being dishonest is just digging your own grave!

Only you know that, as stated you lied and in any job that is a big no. Sorry but once anyone is found out in a lie then trust in the person is gone and you brought this {for whatever reason} on yourself so you cannot blame anyone else.
A hard lesson learnt I think0 -
I think this is unfair dismissal though. The investigating manager has had it in for me for ages, he wouldn't have believed me regardless of what I had said. I told the truth to the manager in the disciplinary hearing and told him I'd only lied to the investigating manager because of this.0

And you gave him the perfect reason to sack you. You lied during an investigation.0 -

You are where you are, you need to smell which way the winds blowing and its not towards a favourable tribunal outcome for you.
Did you believe the disciplining manager would treat you as a friend and make it all go away?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

The disciplining manager is much more understanding , I'm positive I've only been sacked because of what the other manager said.0 -

The other manager will present the investigatory findings, he didn't hear the disciplinary or was there perhaps a procedural error that you may wish to consider during your appeal?
Are you considering appealing the sanction?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
