Weather Forecasters' Accuracy !

Not sure if the title isn't an oxymoron

I don't often rely on them anyway (perhaps I've hinted at that here before ?) but they've really excelled themselves today! Last night the forecast was for cloudy all day over most of country though perhaps brightening up in West and a few glimmers of sunshine in selected locations. Our location showed up with a chance of some weak sunshine around 1 -2 pm (but we'll be out then anyway).

At 06:15 today, TV forecast was exactly the same so I rushed downstairs to pump up my daily 'water ration'.

At 9am this morning we started seeing some sun and by 09:30 we were generating over 2kW. My water pump only uses 0.5kW anyway so I could easily have waited. Slight consolation is that I didn't run dishwasher overnight - but that was only because we didn't have enough dirty dishes (and still haven't).

Looks like the Immersun will have a good day :j

At 6am the long term weather forecast on the YR site I use (Norwegian Met) said that the next two days would be nice, but the following 7 days would be wet and grey apart from one sun/cloud day.

Now it's saying the next two days will nice, and 5 of the following 7 will also be nice.

Amazing how a 9 day forecast can change so much in 4 hours. Though I expect by this evening it'll be different again!

At the moment we are full sun (according to the sites hourly info) right through to 4pm, but the sky is grey (generating 400W) ...... but it does look like it might break.

Yours was the same as mine Eric(would have thought so being about 4 miles as the crow flies). Must say I was pleasantly surprised to cook the sunday dinner, run dishwasher, 1 load of washing and now the dryer on interspersed with my regular top ups of tea and all for the princely sum of NOWT. I'll be attacking the lawns this afternoon too...smiley-scared001.gif
