Sorry if this has previously been posted but I did a search and couldn't find anything!
I've got half a (glass) jar of pesto in the fridge that i opened on friday night, needed to be used within 3 days but I don't need it at the moment and don;t want to waste it!
Will it be okay to bung it in the freezer? Also am I right in thinking, because it's only half full it won;t expand and smash the glass?
Cheers!

Fine to freeze.
I make pesto sometimes when basil is cheap at the market (use ground cashews if pine nuts are too expensive) and freeze it in old Colemans mustard jars and similar sizes - no problem with filling a jar as not much liquid to expand.
Also, an opened jar will be fine in the fridge as long as you level off the remains, clean the inside of the glass and then put a quarter of an inch of oil on top (anything but corn). This will form a layer which air cannot penetrate (fridge is belt and braces)0
