Just a quick question to those who use sainsbury's On-line delivery. It was my first time ordering with them last week. Delivery was due on the Thursday, I called them Wednesday as due to an emergency I needed to cancel that day.
I spoke to a very nice lady Called Faye, who said is was no problem and I could have it delivered any other time. I arranged for it today, Saturday, 11am to 12 slot. The driver called me at 11.50 this morning and could say sorry enough that he would be 5mins late. I said, 'No big deal mate, as long as your still coming, come any time as I'm in all day'
12.05pm he knocks on my door. All apologies. I told him not to worry, I've had far worse with Tesco.
Anyway. He leaves me the paperwork and it has a £10 off voucher for my next order and saying sorry we we're late. all good
Now on Friday evening I had an email from this Faye, giving details of my new delivery time and date. This evening I had another to say, 'We were sorry that you cancelled you're first order with us and have refunded your £31.00. and hope you will shop with us in the future
Does that mean she made a mistake? Is this the norm with Sainsbury's?
I've had nightmares shopping with Tesco, and this all went so well but I don't understand if that's what they do for 1st customers. I will wait and see if they refund the money, but that's not me. I'd feel better giving it back.
I know this is money saving  but not sure if anyone else has had this happen.
Now before the usual mob here jump on the bandwagon shouting 'of course, give it back' I want to know if anyone else has had this happen

Since you say you would feel better givign them the money back then simply give them a call and ask them.
Unless you want people to say no no keep it its the norm

I called them and postponed an order by a day once. When it came they'd picked it twice so I had double of everything.
I kept what I could use and gave the rest to my neighbours. The driver was well aware of what had happened but suggested it was easier for him if I took it all.
They were nearly always late if I had the delivery on a Saturday. The £10 voucher was a regular thing.
I don't use them anymore as I've gone over to Tescos.0 -

That wasn't the point of the thread, I wanted to know if it had happened to anone else.
They say the refund will be there within the next 7 days, if it is I will be giving it back
