C2W question, just out of interest.

Options
Hello compers, after a break of about 4 months I am back and it is lovely to see you all again :)

Even though I stopped comping in October, I stopped the C2Ws and mags back in the summer but am giving them a go again. I just wondered how you were all doing on them now the captcha has gone? Have the C2W regulars noticed a decreas in winnings since they have gone or are things about the same?

I am just asking as I wonder about lots of bots and pay to enter sites jumping on the C2W no captcha band wagon and if I am wasting my time.

Also, whilst I am here how long do you think it takes you to trawl through the C2Ws? I have been entering a majority of them, all sites for the prizes I want (I dont enter for dvds, baby, sporting, car/bike or gardening stuff) but it must be taking about 2 hours as there are so many. Do I need to get a life? lol

The mags take about 20 mins so I am happy to keep zooming thorugh them, but I am wndering about C2Ws

  • Oh, wins have definitely decreased for me. And people are openly talking about using scripts to enter them all semi-automatically on here (look further down page), so who knows what others are doing!

When everything had captchas I had about one win a fortnight. I haven't had any wins so far this year.

Without the capatchas, unless you are entering at least semi-automatically, they are pretty much a waste of time and not worth more than an occasional entry unless you have loads of time to kill, are fully up to date on the main board and have gone through the list of low entry competitions not on mse.

(I aim for a minimum £5 an hour so 2 hours a day on c2ws would need to produce over £3,500 a year, I know that isn't going to happen)

    Thank you.

I was involved in the script chat and to be honest it's not as "cheaty" as it sounds. You still have to open all the pages and it still has to click through everything. You can't do anything else on your computer while its running, it just stops you getting RSI as it clicks and moves on to the next tab for you.

I did think that getting rid of captcha may have an impact on wins, bring them back in my opinion.

Off the top of my head, whilst I was doing C2Ws early last year I won £400 vouchers, £600 TITP trip, £85 hiking boots, and £100 mobile and speaker so I wasn't too far off your target, but that was when people had to work for it lol.

  • I didn't mean to imply people were cheating, sorry if it came across that way. What I meant to say really is that there's little point in doing it the 'old' way, opening the sites one at a time and going through the pages one at a time. There will be plenty of people who effortlessly enter them all several times over every day. It's not worth it until they put the captchas back on.

I didn't think you meant me gentleorange.

I know the used to disable captchas every now and then for a day or two and I have only been back a couple of weeks, but how long has this been going on for? Do you think they will bring them back?

Have to ask I presume C2W means Click to Win?
What is the semi automated way? Is this way dodgy etc?

Yes and probably - will they disqualify the entries - doubtful.

You can use one thing to open all the comps in different tabs and then another to enter them all.

  • These aren't worth entering now then?
