Ok I am going to ask for a general opinion on the That's life weekly magazine postings as I feel there is an issue/delay/call it what you like with getting them posted up regularly.
Fire**fly has posted up the lastest issue here as it ends tomorrow, and she has stepped up several times recently to post at the last minute as they have not been done.
The regular poster Holland1977 has not been online now since 12/01 and is 4 magazines behind. I have pm'd her asking if she is ok and if she would like someone else to take over, but had no reply and I believe others have sent messages too.
This hasn't really happened before and there is no forum protocol for what we should do (if anything) about this, so I am putting it out there for opinions. I had the mag before Holland so I kind of still feel responsible for it and I am concerned people are missing out on it with it not being posted regularly like the other weekly mags.
So to sum up, do people feel we should just let it carry on hoping Holland comes back online soon with someone jumping in at the last minute to post up, or should we look for someone else to do them in Holland's absence? I am aware I am talking about Holland behind her back before anyone reports me to BG's but I have pm'd her and had no reply.
Please discuss.

From what you have said all avenues have been exhausted in trying to contact Holland1977 so in my opinion & if I were in Holland1977's position then I would not be upset if someone stepped in until my return.Comping from May 2012
Thank you to all that post & contribute, I think you are wonderful, I could not achieve without your help0 -
Yes agree, you have tried contacting Holland1977 for a few weeks now and not had a reply so I think if someone else wants to post the competition until Holland1977 gets back in contact and says they still want to do it. I don't think anyone would be treading on anyone's toes then.0

In my opinion, either yourself or somebody else should take over posting the weekly puzzles from That's Life, at least until Holland comes back to you and states that s/he is going to resume posting regularly. Far better for the comps to be posted in good time than worrying about treading on a regular poster's toes. It's not as though you're posting them the second the mag comes out and not giving the original poster a chance, is it?! I say post (or have someone else post). x0

I agree with everyone above. It's obvious that Holland is busy and I would feel that she would welcome a break from the commitment of posting the mag at this time. You have done everything possible to resolve this for us and I thank you very much mum2boys for your persistence and for championing this cause. All there is needed is for a volunteer to take over the posting of the mag. Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water

As there's been no response to the messages- it's possible that something serious has happened- hopefully someone else can be found to take on the role.0

I think we owe mum2toboys a huge vote of thanks for being so thorough on this and I think, given the non-response to PMs we could go ahead and seek a new poster, at least until we hear from Holland1977.
My first reaction was to hope they were OK (and of course that is still uppermost) but having a [STRIKE]nosy[/STRIKE]:cool:check of their profile there have been previous occasions where they have had to delay posting plus I notice she works for DWP, where they are having to cope with massive upheavals, so she may have more on her mind than filling in puzzles.:("If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. I agree with everyone else that someone else should take over posting until Holland1977 returns or says she does not want to continue.
I also hope and pray there is not a serious problem for Holland1977 and this is why she has not been online since 12th January. Take Care.0 -
As many have said before including me. This is an open forum and comps should be posted as soon as any member finds them or has the answers etc. If its not up and you have the answers, comp etc then post it. This being afraid because someone else usually posts them is really silly. Especially in this case when that person hasn't. Absolutely nobody on this forum owns the rights to post any comp at all. They do it because they want to or get there first. Its as simple as that.August-September 2017: Lots of stuff

In terms of 'normal' comps, certainly.
Not in the case of someone paying for the mag then being kind enough to post the answers, thus of course lessening their own chances. This board is wholly dependent on peoples generosity, and frankly we are seeing more and more posters who are only concerned with themselves, without actually offering to add anything to the mix"If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. i've been sitting here wondering whether to comment
on the thread or not,
but feel i should as i have been posting the last few TL's,
it can be an awkward situation as to forum etiquette for the
magazine postings as the mag ops are purchasing the magazine
& it does take up most of the day/sometimes a
couple of days solving the puzzles/crosswords etc in order to
post them on here,
i think we all appreciate we always give the mag ops plenty of time
to post them regarding the time
it takes to do them,
re the few TL mags that have been posted i have always
followed the forum rule to pm the op near the
closing date &/or a couple of days before but hadn't had any reply,
so have gone ahead & posted them so forum members can keep
up with the issue numbers etc,
then i have always sent another pm to let the op know
(with the link)
to save them time searching on the forum to see if it had been posted,
i sincerely hope that i've not caused any misunderstandings
by doing this & hope all is well with the reg. poster,
which i have always included in my pm's to them.
MSE Andrea once posted which is now placed
in the compers guide for all,
Posting Comps
1 How can I find comps to post on here,
I’ve entered loads & want to give some back?
Regular compers on MSE already post the daily ITV comps & will arrange for someone to cover them if they aren't going to be around - because the search facility won't pick something up for at least 30 mins after posting, please remember that regular posters will probably already have this in hand!
Also, the magazine comps that have their own threads will have lists of people that buy the magazines, answer the puzzles then post the answers on here for others.
Please respect these existing posters as it is their money they are handing over to buy the mags & give us the answers. If you are interested in helping out or posting a particular magazine then
either post in that mags thread or if you can't find the actual thread
then post in the Compers Chat Corner Board to ask about it
& another comper will be along to help point you in the right direction.
At the end of the day, no comper 'owns the right' to post a particular comp but please take a moment, have a look around & ask in the Compers Chat Corner Board, if necessary, to ask if there is a regular poster for a particular comp. Let's keep this a friendly place to play, avoid duplication & misunderstandings
..................................................................
which IMHO all avenues were done by messaging & asking in here by mumto, myself & others.
