New DMP and Sense of Relief

After months of deliberation I finally took the leap into DMP world last month!! My first payment is mid-January and I cannot even begin to describe the huge sense of relief I already have. Although all my creditor payments were up-to-date and paid each month, I was living on credit because I had such a small amount of disposable income after paying creditors, mortgage and utilities. There was nothing to put aside for emergencies and necessaries such as car tax/MOT etc. Although it will take 11 years for me to be debt free, my stress and anxiety levels have reduced to practically nothing and not having access to any credit facilities feels great!! Thank you to StepChange and also to everyone whose posts on here enabled me to make an informed choice which has already changed my life!!

Well done for taking your first steps...it is a great relief when you finally take control. When I started my DMP, it was estimated at 11 years too but I have been able to shave years off along the way and I expect to complete it in just over 6 years.
